New regulation will make getting a driver's license harder: Final days for the old system!
News has arrived for citizens who want to get a driver's license. Taner Şide, a driving instructor in Eskişehir, stated that getting a license will become more difficult with the new regulation and advised those who want to take the exam under the old system to register by October 15. With the new regulations, changes will be made to exam durations and rules.
The 'Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on Private Motor Vehicle Driver Courses' prepared by the Ministry of National Education was published in the Official Gazette in recent months. While many changes are being made to driver's license exams with the new regulation, which has not yet been implemented, driving instructor Taner Şide made evaluations on the subject. Stating that they expect the new regulation to be implemented as of the new year, Şide expressed that getting a driver's license will become more difficult from now on. Emphasizing that the period from the time candidates register until they take the exam and receive their license can take up to 45 days, Şide recommended that those who want to take the exam under the old system should register by October 15.

'EXAM DURATION IS BEING INCREASED FROM 30 MINUTES TO 40 MINUTES'
Making statements on the subject, driving instructor Taner Şide said, "There will be many changes regarding the exam. For example, the exam duration is being increased from 30 minutes to 40 minutes. When a candidate completes the exam in 30 minutes and parks the vehicle at the starting point, they may be forced by the commission chairman to take a tour for another 10 minutes to complete their 40 minutes. A new innovation has been brought to parallel parking. A single-maneuver entry right has been added. If a candidate cannot enter in a single maneuver, they will be given the right to enter in a single maneuver again, but the candidate must not hit the cones or the curb while entering and exiting."

'CANDIDATES MAY TAKE THE EXAM ON BOTH ROUTE A AND ROUTE B'
Stating that making a U-turn in 3 maneuvers on the course has been newly introduced, Şide said, "There was another place for emergency braking. Commission chairmen will now have candidates perform emergency braking anywhere on the course. There will be 2 exam courses. So think of it like a road divided into two. A candidate may take the exam on both Route A and Route B. Therefore, candidates will have to work on both courses by considering this possibility."

Emphasizing that there are only a few days left for those who want to get a driver's license under the old regulation to register for courses, Şide continued his words as follows:
"They must come and register by the 20th, or even the 15th of October. Because the time it takes for a candidate to take the exam and get a license after registering can reach 45 days. Since the exam for a license registration made after November will be in January, they will have to take it according to the new regulation and they will struggle more. Most people are not aware of this right now. Also, they may not be able to find a course because there is a certain quota number."
Driving instructor Taner Şide also stated that he thinks lesson hours should be extended because exams will be held on 2 separate courses with the new regulation.
