The CHP will convene its Party Assembly (PM) for the İzmir candidacy, which has remained uncertain for a long time.
According to a report by Altan Sancar from PolitikYol, the name of Karşıyaka Mayor Cemil Tugay has emerged as the leading candidate for the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
It was stated that the issue was partially brought up during the CHP's Central Executive Board (MYK) and party assembly meeting on Friday, but was not put on the agenda because work on district candidates is still ongoing.
It is expected that candidates for İzmir's districts will also be determined at the meeting and announced to the public following the party assembly meeting. It is also stated that candidates from some regions outside of İzmir may be determined at the meeting as well.
