Sharing insider information regarding the İYİ Party, Yarkadaş stated the following;

"There is serious unease within the İYİ Party. This unease was voiced during the meeting reported on by Deniz Gürel. Party officials cannot make sense of Akşener's attitudes. Some party officials I have spoken with are asking, 'Has Ms. Meral entered into a secret engagement with the AK Party?' This suspicion has grown significantly.

I know that the İYİ Party is having difficulty finding candidates in Ankara and Istanbul. Buğra Kavuncu and Kürşad Zorlu do not want to be candidates. İYİ Party members I spoke with today said that Akşener will leave the Chairmanship after the local elections and is considering Buğra Kavuncu as her successor, which is why she does not want to make him the candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB). It is clear that Buğra Kavuncu will not be the candidate in Istanbul."
