Sharp criticisms begin to rise within the party: Confessions in the AKP after the election defeat!
It has been learned that internal party criticism has begun within the AKP, with some MPs stating, "This story actually ended with the 2019 elections, and we haven't been able to write a new one."
The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, continues to analyze the reasons for its loss.
It has been learned that internal party criticism has begun within the AKP, which fell to the position of the second party nationwide for the first time in 22 years.
Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan reported that sharp criticisms and rebukes are being voiced within the AKP, noting that some party members have said, "We no longer have a story. This story actually ended with the 2019 elections. We haven't been able to write a new one. The AK Party was the cement of this country. Where is this cement? Where are the Alevis, where are the Kurds?"
Babacan shared the following information regarding the behind-the-scenes of the AKP:
"Among the evaluations made, it was interesting that some pointed out that the party's drift away from its core philosophy led to today's election results. There were politicians who asked, 'Where are the Kurds, where are the Alevis?' I am sharing a portion of this interesting evaluation here;

Where are the Alevis, where are the Kurds? There is currently no trust in the legal system in Turkey. For this reason, there is no trust in the economy either. If trust is established in these two elements, it would be the beginning of the AK Party's new story. It would contribute at least 10 points to the AK Party's vote share...'
In the same meeting, there were also those who said that retirees should be given a raise above inflation in July. However, it did not find much support. Objections were raised, such as, "With what resources will you do this? The situation is obvious. The biggest mistake regarding retirement was the EYT (Retirement at Age of Entitlement). The bill for that is being paid right now. Such proposals would not be for the good of the country." It is unknown how much of these 'confessions' made behind closed doors will be reflected in party policies. Those who say, "Unless the mentality changes, things won't be different," point to the cabinet announced after the general elections as an example. Even though there was a broad change in the cabinet, excluding two ministers, their own colleagues explain that not much has changed...
