Striking claim: Is Süleyman Soylu forming a party?

On the eve of July 15, former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, who announced that he would apply to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to have his parliamentary immunity lifted via the Cumhuriyet newspaper, had most recently left two of his vehicles and an armored vehicle at the Ministry of Interior building.

Amid all these developments, Nuray Babacan from Gazete Pencere wrote that claims are circulating regarding former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu preparing to resign.

WILL HE SEEK THE NATIONALIST VOTE?

Babacan stated, “There are claims that Soylu is preparing to resign, will return to the people, and is preparing for elections in the coming period as a new power center with a new party.”

Babacan concluded by assessing, “It is suggested that Soylu, who cannot see a place for himself in the future of the AKP, is trying to fill the void in this area following the loss of votes in the MHP and the fragmentation of the IYI Party, and is attempting to create a new center for himself. When the possibilities of an early election are also taken into account, aspiring to the nationalist vote does not seem illogical. Of course, there are also those who think that these moves only contain the message 'I am here too, you cannot ignore me,' as the approval of the TBMM General Assembly is required for both the lifting of his immunity and the acceptance of his resignation from parliament. Resigning from the AKP and trying to form a parliamentary group could also be a path.”
