Would that be so bad? Our neuron count and synaptic connections would increase, and we would shine brightly…

What does Ibn Khaldun say in his work titled Muqaddimah? He says, "Geography is destiny." He does not say confusing things like I do; whether your destiny should be with poetry or painting, or destiny with ears, or destiny with eyes.

Of course, he wouldn't say that; he is the great Ibn Khaldun.

This thing I call destiny is actually our civilizations; it is the thing we are all born into and grow up in, the thing that instills faith in us, shapes us with its culture and traditions, and not only shapes us but gives us an identity, brings us closer to ourselves through our identities, or turns us against one another—in short, it is the thing that surrounds us with everything it has and melts us within itself.

So, while Ibn Khaldun says "geography is our destiny," I say; "our civilizations are our destiny."

Alright, let our civilizations be our destiny, but you are asking why I made all this fuss about ears, eyes, poetry, and painting.

And I say to you; oh dear reader, can there be a civilization without ears, without eyes, without poetry, without painting?

Of course not, and you know perfectly well that there cannot be…

Naturally, you are curious, or at least I think you are curious…

Can a civilization be born from the ear…
