Empathy

Empathy is defined as a person's ability to understand another person's feelings and respond to them in a positive way.

Empathy involves being able to see events from another person's perspective, which makes people more sensitive to the needs of others.

The ability to empathize is one of the keys to success in personal, political, and professional life.

Showing empathy is also important in leadership. An empathetic leader increases the workforce's productivity and ensures the happiness of the individuals who make up society.

A leader who lacks empathy becomes increasingly detached from society and isolates themselves from the public.

In summary, empathy is a human and conscientious emotion that helps resolve conflicts in a more constructive manner and fosters feelings such as respect and love.

In today's Turkey, as a society that has moved away from empathy, we see that all kinds of conflicts are rising, communication between people is breaking down, individuals are becoming insensitive to each other's needs, and thus, the sense of trust and commitment in society is gradually disappearing.

We are witnessing those living in luxury in palaces failing to empathize with retirees and workers, remaining mere spectators as they are crushed under heavy economic conditions.

Because empathy is not established, we see our youth unable to look to the future with hope and attempting to leave the country.

Due to a lack of empathy, we see unemployment hitting the ceiling and people being tested by hunger and poverty.

Because empathy cannot be established, we fail to understand what a major problem refugees are for the country.

A leader who cannot empathize will not be able to provide solutions to any problems, especially the economy, as they become increasingly alienated from society.

Since the current government lacks empathy, it cannot find remedies for any troubles, and thus conflict, unhappiness, and hopelessness are steadily increasing in society.

Because the minister in charge of the economy lacks a sense of empathy, they consider salary raises based on incorrectly announced inflation data to be sufficient and turn a deaf ear to the reactions of retirees, civil servants, and workers.

In short, establishing empathy will increase communication in society, help understand different perspectives, and ensure that conflicts are managed better.

As a result, without establishing empathy, no problem of Turkish society can be understood or solved.
