A statement made by Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman at the summit underscored this situation: “We have never seen technology advance this quickly before. Keeping up with this pace can be challenging for everyone.”
New Workforce: Digital Employees
The following words from Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff were characteristic of summarizing the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce:
“From this point on, we will manage not only human employees but also digital employees.”
This new reality points to a world where businesses will have to manage not only human resources but also digital resources. Autonomous AI agents have the capacity to optimize business processes across a wide spectrum, from customer service to data analytics. However, while this transformation creates new responsibilities in the workforce, it also requires the roles of human employees to be redefined.
AI and Ethical Issues
The rise of AI is not only a technical revolution but also an ethical challenge. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres warned in his statement at the summit that if AI is not regulated, it could lead to misinformation and the erosion of trust. In this context, both states and technology companies must work together on the ethical use of AI.
Transformation in the Energy Sector
The role of AI is also increasingly growing in the energy sector. Solutions that AI can provide regarding the integration of renewable energy sources, the reduction of carbon emissions, and energy efficiency were frequently discussed in Davos. In particular, the impact of the United States' energy policies on this transformation was examined in detail by the participants.
Roadmap in the Intelligent Age
Davos 2025 emphasized that the business world must not only adapt to new technologies but also keep long-term sustainability goals in mind. To be successful in this “Intelligent Age,” leaders need to strike the right balance between short-term gains and long-term goals.
The questions brought by AI are just as significant as the opportunities it offers to the business world: Will technology remain a tool that improves human life, or will it lead to the loss of ethical values and social trust? The answers to these questions will shape not only the future of the business world but also that of society.
