The agenda is very busy: the issue of Can Atalay's imprisonment, which has lost all meaning in the name of law; violence in football; fraud; endless identity politics jabs; international political posturing through coffee chains...
In this agenda, how is it possible for one to remember oneself!
Let us return to the issues of livelihood, survival, and health.
Our graduates from Turkish universities cannot find jobs, they cannot survive. Unemployment among degree holders is increasing every day.
Young people who get into university cannot even go from their hometowns to the big cities. They have nowhere to stay.
Confidence in the future is decreasing day by day.
Teachers cannot rent homes, and those who do live in constant fear of being evicted.
Lawyers cannot keep their offices running.
Our doctors are emigrating abroad.
Our engineers are either unemployed, working without job security, or looking for ways to work abroad.
Our problem with access to healthy food is growing.
Our country is energy-poor. The remedy for this poverty involves making political concessions due to energy dependence on certain countries.
Citizens have lost hope of solving their problems through the state. Seeking justice is very expensive. Even if one could apply to the court, it is almost impossible for our problem to be solved in a timely manner.
If it weren't for our internet connection, we wouldn't be able to lift our heads from the disaster we are living in.
Thank God for Netflix, Amazon, and Disney.
Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to breathe.
Yes, let us return to our agenda. While we ordinary people are left alone with our micro-problems in our micro-worlds, our politicians are wandering in completely different realms. Let us leave them to their own devices and look at what we can do.
We need to feed ourselves, shelter in a healthy place, and ensure our safety. For this, we need to focus on the tools through which we can influence our living spaces. Local elections are very important in this respect.
Our problems of unemployment, housing, access to food, and living in a healthy environment are essentially interconnected problems, and it is possible to solve them together. We can build areas where we can directly produce food, and while doing so, earn our living and find shelter. To realize this goal, we can rely on national and international loans; on our citizens who care about healthy living and healthy food; and on activists who are aware of these problems. Furthermore, we can utilize the knowledge of our unemployed degree holders in these areas.
It is possible to do these things in Çankaya, where we reside, and in Ankara more generally. The construction of such a living space can begin immediately after the elections. Otherwise, it is inevitable that we will become victims of tenant-landlord disputes, unhealthy food, or direct hunger, along with unemployment, immorality, and the black money order.
To live like human beings, we urgently need to find solutions to these problems on the ordinary person's agenda. Let us move away from the "urgent" problems of politics and look at the urgent needs ahead of us. For some time now, I have been touching upon these urgent needs and solutions by writing about micro-struggle topics. We will continue. Against the agenda's indifference to our people, we will insist on caring for our people.
