Children of Gaza

(I have adapted this for the children of Gaza. Their Uncle Nazım wrote for them as well. I believed this, saying this is the truth. The words in parentheses are my own commentary.)

THE GIRL CHILD

I am knocking on doors
one after another.
I cannot be seen by you
for the dead cannot be seen.

It has been about ten years
since I died in Hiroshima.
I am a seven-year-old girl,
dead children do not grow.

My hair caught fire first,
my eyes burned and scorched.
I turned into a handful of ash,
my ash scattered into the air.

I do not want anything
from you for myself.
For a child who burns like paper
cannot even eat candy.

I am knocking on your door,
aunt, uncle, give a signature.
Let children not be killed
so they can eat candy too.

(In Hiroshima, in Gaza,

in Hitler's massacre,
many children died.
Especially in Gaza, before the eyes
of humanity, they killed me too.
It has been about ten days since I died as well.)

LITTLE HAYA'S WILL

Director Tülay Gökçimen shared an image of the will of a young girl named Haya, who was killed by Israel, on social media and provided its meaning in Turkish.

Here is what little Haya wrote in her will:

"Hello, I am Haya. I am going to write my will for you.

1. Let 45 shekels be given to my mother, 5 shekels to Zine, 5 shekels to Haşim, 5 shekels to my grandmother, 5 shekels to my aunt Hibe, 5 shekels to my aunt Meryem, 5 shekels to my uncle Ubud, and 5 shekels to my aunt Sare.

2. Let my toys and all my belongings be given to my friends Zine, Rima, Mine, and Emel.

3. Let my clothes be given to my uncle's daughters. If anything is left over, let it be donated.

4. Let my shoes be donated to the poor, of course, after they are cleaned."
