It is said that in ancient times, on a Friday, everyone was rushing to the mosque in a panic. A famous preacher was supposedly going to give a sermon.
Because of this, everyone was in a rush to find a spot in the mosque... An old man was walking in the exact opposite direction of those rushing to the mosque, leaning on his cane...
Meanwhile, one of those rushing in a panic bumped into the old man. The old man fell to the ground. None of those rushing to the mosque helped the man up. The old man stood up with great difficulty, clinging to his cane.
He shouted to those running toward the mosque: "Oh congregation! You are rushing to the mosque like this. The god you truly worship is in the soil beneath my feet. It is here. It is under my feet."
Indeed, there was soil beneath his feet. The congregation was enraged:
- "You infidel," they said. "So you put God under your feet, did you? And you are even kicking it!"
The old man replied calmly:
- I have no words against the mosque or God. My words are for you. You have not been able to overcome your ego or your self. You have no righteous deeds (meaning no correct actions or proper behavior). Whether you go to the mosque or not, it makes no difference...
They lynched the poor man and killed him right there.
A long time passed, years and years went by. The sultan of that country died. Then a new sultan came to power. He was a wise, deep-thinking person who tried to be just. When the sultan took office, his first task was to visit the cemeteries.
In that country, the cause of death—whether from a disease, a trouble, or why someone was killed—was written on their tombstone. While walking around, the sultan saw the grave of the old man who had been lynched. It was written on the old man's tombstone that he had been killed by lynching.
It was also written on the old man's tombstone that he had stomped his foot on the ground and said, "God is in the soil beneath my foot."
The sultan said nothing. He stood by the grave for a long time, deep in thought. He waited for Friday. On Friday, he went to the old man's grave again. The people were rushing toward the mosque in a hurry as usual. While they were entering the mosque, the sultan ordered his men, "Go ahead and dig up the spot where this man stomped his foot."
The sultan's men began to dig. They discovered a huge iron chest under the ground... It was full of gold and jewels. The sultan was a wise man. The people were standing in prayer. Everyone was praying in peace.
And the sultan gave an order: "Go and shout, 'Gold has been found in the cemetery! The sultan is distributing the gold to the people.'"
The sultan's men immediately carried out the order and shouted from the door of the mosque: "O brothers, gold has been found in the cemetery! A large iron chest full of gold. The sultan is distributing it to the people."
Hearing about the gold, they abandoned their prayers, rushed out of the mosque, and dashed to the cemetery, thinking, 'Can I grab a handful of gold for myself?'
They forgot the mosque, their prayers, and even God.
The Sultan addressed the congregation: 'Behold, what you worship is under my feet. The old man you lynched meant to say, "You worship money." He was right. As soon as you heard about the gold, you abandoned your prayers, your religion, and your faith, and came running.'
Unfortunately, the world order is built on money. It is built on economics. It is built on exploitation. It is built on the domination of ruling classes. Temples, mosques, and faiths are all, in reality, meant to conceal the greed for money of the ruling classes and the greed for money of the people.
Now we watch it on television. Know-it-all television pundits explain it with astonishment: How can Israel do this? Why did America come here, I wonder? When will the ground operation begin? Look at how much America stands behind Israel.
Yet, the interests of the ruling classes—the ruling classes that control the state—require Gaza to be razed to the ground. The murderer of those who die in Gaza is America.
All this blood is being shed to protect and seize the oil and other economic assets in Gaza. Israel, America, and the European Union—they all worship the true god, which is money, or in other words, capitalism.
