A citizen is a person who loves their country.
Then there are patriots who do not love people. They love the country's cats, dogs, stray animals, mountains, and plains. But they do not love the people of the country.
There is no solidarity between them and the people of the country.
They love stray animals, but they do not love the children living on the streets, homeless, abandoned, and in pain and fear.
These people love the USA very much.
They love NATO very much.
They love Israel very much.
They love the European Union very much.
But they do not love their own citizens. They do not love their own state. They do not love their own culture. They do not love their folk songs.
And these people are very insincere. They weep for the martyrs, but they unanimously support the expansion of NATO. One cannot help but ask: Dear members of parliament, you are the deputies of Turkey. Isn't it Europe, which includes Sweden, that caused the martyrdom of our twelve soldiers? Isn't it the USA? Isn't it NATO? The PKK derives its greatest strength from Europe. From the USA. From NATO. Their money, their friends, their supporters, the places where they are trained—it is all them. Israel, USA, EU, NATO.
Our citizens with corrupted consciousness are also among them. They are with them. They are doing the work of striking Turkey from within and collapsing it from within.
Isn't it very obvious? How can you not see it? Turkey is at war with America. Turkey is at war with Europe. Turkey is at war with NATO. Turkey is at war with Israel. When the truth is this clear, you are voting for the expansion and further strengthening of NATO? Did you not feel any sorrow while raising your hands for NATO's expansion?
While fire falls upon homes, you will try to curry favor with America on one hand and weep for the martyrs on the other; shame on you.
A stanza from a Yemen folk song came to my mind:
The road to Yemen is full of pits.
My mess tin is made of copper.
Our rich pay a ransom.
Our soldiers are from the poor.
Some say: "God granted them martyrdom too. Because there is faith in those poor homes, that is why God grants martyrdom to those homes."
Look, look, look, look, look... How they are pouring cement into minds, how they are exploiting religion. Hey, you become a martyr too. Let a martyr come from your wealthy households and mansions as well. Are you that faithless? You pay a price amidst all this wealth, yet you do not send your precious children to the military. Can there be this much class exploitation, this much class hypocrisy, and lack of conscience? If you think on a class basis, swindlers, religious exploiters, ethnic figures, and similar dark consciences will always attack you. They will always poison your consciousness.
The foundation of salvation from terrorism is to leave NATO. It is to leave the European Union. It is to close the bases of the United States of America. You will both keep the United States of America's bases open and give them all kinds of support, and then make roaring statements like lions for Gaza. Enough, really, enough.
It is America that attacks Gaza. It is America that is with the PKK and causes our children to be martyred. Turkey is in a state of war with America. If you cannot see this, may the bread this country feeds you be forbidden to you. May the rights of those martyrs be forbidden to you.
Our country needs serious class solidarity, class awakening, and class consciousness. The working class is no longer limited to pickaxe and shovel workers. The lawyer, doctor, engineer working with their labor, the worker working at the bench, the laborer working in construction—all of these are from the working class. But unfortunately, the laborers do not know their own power. They cannot say, "We are the ones who produce, and we will be the ones who govern." They cannot organize.
Throughout history, ruling classes have made laborers kill each other on battlefields. In times when there was no war, they exploited their labor by making them work for mere subsistence. Human history is not a history of civilization. Human history is actually a history of oppression. It is a history where the strong crush the weak.
There are two options before us. The first option is to become human. The second option is to become a monster. We, the laborers, those who stand for labor, must choose to become human.
I want to end my article with a question.
Turkey is at war with America.
Which side are you on? Who do you stand with?
