Signs of the apocalypse

The meaning of the word apocalypse is: “According to the beliefs of monotheistic religions, the end of the world and the time when all the dead will be resurrected and gathered for judgment; the day of reckoning, judgment day, the day of resurrection.” The signs of the apocalypse found in holy books describe the events that will occur as the day of judgment approaches.

It is believed that as the end of the world draws near, in addition to geographical events such as mountains shifting from their places, the sky splitting, and the seas boiling, there will be states of human degradation such as injustice and a passion for wealth and property. A state of upheaval.

Setting theological topics aside, as the year 2025 AD comes to an end, what is happening in the world resembles the prelude to a human apocalypse. When you look at the world map, almost everywhere from the Pacific to Europe-Asia and South America is like a powder keg ready to explode. For the Middle East, a state of conflict is already a matter of course. The US Navy is counting the days to strike Venezuela; they have the country under blockade. A similar situation occurring between China and Taiwan is not a remote possibility. The conflict in Ukraine and its impact on Europe is a separate disaster. European states are trying to force their populations to accept a war economy and militarization by pumping up Russophobia. The “Readiness 2030” program includes significant increases in defense—or rather, armament—budgets for Europe's security.

I would like to remind you that over the past decades, we have heard the following from Europeans: Shrink your army, do not arm yourselves. Neutralize the army. Today, however, they talk about the military merits of the Turks and tell us how well we fought against the Russians in history. I watch with a smile as those who gave us advice in the past now have fully equipped soldiers walking the streets of the Netherlands for public relations events, and as Germany prepares for a return to mandatory military service.* They quickly transitioned from photos of prime ministers commuting by bicycle to public relations work with soldiers carrying long-barreled weapons. They could make use of the EMASYA (Security-Public Order-Assistance) Protocol, which they once trampled upon, to utilize in extraordinary situations.

The shrinking of the European economy, especially the decline in production as a result of Germany's difficulty in procuring natural gas due to the Ukraine war, is increasing social discontent. They cannot compete with China in production and sales. Even in the automotive sector, the Chinese have surpassed their European rivals. When the reaction to immigrants is added to this, right-wing parties like the AfD are gaining strength.

As for the US, it ultimately aims for an armed showdown with China. It is certain to happen; the only question is when.

The greatest problem solver: War

Do the conditions not resemble those before World War II? Shrinking economies, rising militarization, imperialist desires for aggression to access other countries' natural resources. The rise of the right, the masses' search for a chauvinistic leader.

The balance and institutions established after the war are now dysfunctional. As it was said and desired, the end of history did not come in 1991, and not only did it not come, but today there is more than one state that possesses the most destructive nuclear weapons and would not hesitate to use them.

When we look at history, humanity has used wars as a way out. Unresolved problems and growing discontent have birthed wars, and wars have caused a new era to begin. War has been the most important problem solver. Provided that it leaves millions of dead behind. Wars level the field, and thus a new order is established.

When we come to Turkey, many signs of a social apocalypse have emerged.

We have millions of laborers who are becoming increasingly dispossessed and impoverished. Housing is a serious problem; living in earthquake-resistant buildings is extremely expensive. The extent of poverty has reached the point of not being able to eat healthily. Our country's nature is literally under attack. Our wealth, which we should use for agriculture, livestock, and forestry, is being sacrificed to unregulated mining activities.

There are other great destructions brought about by poverty and a lack of future. Gambling and drug addiction. There are millions searching for their future in games of chance, and our people who are dragged into drug addiction out of desperation.

By the way, I am not talking about the perversions of the country's richest people or the power brokers who lean on politics. They represent the most degraded state of humanity. To describe their situation, we must return to the beginning, to theology: Sodom and Gomorrah.

Politics, the judiciary, universities, all kinds of NGOs. Which institution can we say has remained clean and is fulfilling its duty properly? What do you call a university that does not utter a single word while another absurdity happens in the country every day? It can only be called a diploma distribution center. Can there be a law faculty that cannot express two lines of opinion in the face of decisions where what is written in books and the law is turned upside down?

Unfortunately, all the conditions necessary for the degeneration and collapse of a society are present in our country.

In the face of such a picture, how can one be hopeful? How can one lead a healthy, well-being-filled life without anxiety about the future? It is not possible. However, there is only one way out. To be organized and to struggle. It could be a political party, an association, a professional organization, or a solidarity platform in the neighborhood. It is absolutely necessary to be organized. It is necessary to organize in places where there is the freedom to speak the truths you believe in, without chasing personal advancement.
