Look at what you have done to this country... Shame on you

They still had the faces of children.

Because they were high school students. They went to the front together. When the Captain saw the high school students and asked, "My children, who are you, why have you come?" the students replied, "We have come to die for the homeland."

And all of these young people became martyrs; they died for the homeland.

The result: 57,000 martyrs,

21,000 deaths from disease. 164,000 wounded and sick. 10,000 missing.

We are, of course, talking about the Gallipoli Campaign.

The war had ended.

The soldiers sat at Metristepe and tended to their wounds. They lit a fire and shook off the exhaustion of the war in the trenches. A ceremony was held for the martyrs. A Turkish flag was planted on the graves of the martyrs. Lieutenant Colonel Mehmet Nazım Bey, Commander of the 4th Division, gave a speech to the surviving soldiers;

"We will save the homeland! We swear it!" he said. And as he said, the homeland was saved. But he himself had become a martyr;

The result; 776 martyrs,

More than 3,500 wounded, prisoners, and missing.

We are, of course, talking about the First and Second Battles of İnönü.

The enemy had reached as far as the Polatlı train station.

Panic began in Ankara. The sounds of cannons could be heard from the city. All the young men capable of holding a weapon rushed to the front. When Hıfzı, a student at Ankara High School, saw those rushing to the front and asked his principal with curiosity, "What is it? What is happening?", the principal explained the situation. However, to the student who still did not fully grasp the matter, the principal summarized the situation in a single sentence;

-"My son, if this doesn't work out, we will all be hanged!"

The principal was right. It was such a war that if they did not win, everyone in Ankara would be hanged. And Ankara would be set on fire and burned to the ground. Because Ankara was the headquarters of an uprising, of a revolution. That is why the youth of Ankara High School volunteered for the front. But they did not return after the war. Most of them had become martyrs. They had mingled with the soil and reached paradise.

The war ended, the result: 5,713 martyrs,

18,480 wounded, 828 prisoners, and 14,268 missing.

We are, of course, talking about the Battle of Sakarya. This war was a bloodbath. It was also called the Melhame-i Kübra. Melhame-i Kübra meant a sea of blood. 

The final battle was about to begin.

Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal explained the war plan to the commanders under his command. However, Yakup Şevki Pasha objected. Mustafa Kemal Pasha's face suddenly hardened. But because he was his instructor at the War  Academy, he could not say anything. Yakup Şevki Pasha continued his words. He stood up and said, "Those who decide on this war will remain under great responsibility before history. They will call them traitors to the homeland." And after pausing for a moment, he softened his tone with a pleading voice;

-"And they will hang us all in front of the parliament!" he said.

Mustafa Kemal Pasha stood up and took responsibility, saying, "Do not be afraid, Pasha. All responsibility before history and the nation belongs to me!" He paused for a moment and ended the meeting with these words;

“If we lose, you can hang me in front of the parliament.”

The war ended. The result: 2,318 martyrs,

9,360 wounded, 101 prisoners, and 1,697 missing.

We are, of course, talking about the victory of the Great Offensive.

Nearly 75,000 martyrs in total across 4 wars,

nearly 200,000 missing and wounded.

If you also include Sarıkamış and the defense of Antep, Maraş, and Urfa, the grand total is  nearly 150,000 martyrs, 350,000 wounded, prisoners, or missing. In short, a loss of 500,000 people.

It is said so easily, isn't it? As if counting numbers. 

This homeland  Yet we are counting the lives our grandfathers gave and the blood they shed to save this homeland. There is the blood of fully half a million people in these lands.

They swore an oath to save this homeland. They took a vow. They saved it. Those today seem as if they have sworn an oath to destroy the country.

Mehmet Akif Ersoy once said, 'Scrape away the snow covering the ground, those are not weeds, they are your grandfather's hair.' If you scrape the soil today, you find corruption, theft, religious hypocrisy, reactionism, and fraud.

Politicians who lie, administrators who engage in corruption and theft, civil servants and directors who rob the state, courts that imprison innocent people, sold-out journalists, imams and Quran course teachers who molest children, and so much more. In the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which fought and won a War of Independence, in that Veteran Assembly, they even harassed the staff working there.

Forget the economy and all that. 510 orphaned children were brought to Turkey to protect them from the war in Ukraine. They were taken under protection. Those children were molested in Turkey. Two young girls were impregnated by hotel staff. Is there any disgrace greater than this, any shame greater than this?

I am not responsible for all of this; the administrators are responsible.

Or rather, those who cannot govern are responsible.

Shame on you.

They came claiming they would govern the country, with the Quran in their hands and lies on their tongues, and in 23 years, they have ruined this beautiful country.

Yes, truly, shame on you. 

You descended like a nightmare upon  this beautiful country of ours, which was saved

by the bloodshed of those heroes.
