The 'peace dove' that feeds on blood!

Even though the Kurdish nationalists, fake leftists, and the entire crowd of funded mouthpieces treat him like a peace dove, the man came out and arrogantly threatened the great Republic of Turkey.

He told his nephew Ömer, who visited him in İmralı:

"If this issue is resolved, the door to life will open for everyone; if this issue is not resolved, Turkey will retreat to Anatolia and experience its own hell. Those who can establish a new system in the Middle East are the Kurds, and they can lift up other peoples along with themselves. If Turkey does not prepare itself for a solution, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and international powers have many plans for the future. There is also the possibility of states being declared in these regions."

He did not stop there; he issued a veiled threat in his own way:

"If the Kurdish issue is resolved, if the Middle East issue is resolved, the path for the Middle East will brighten. But if the Kurdish issue is not resolved and the Middle East issue is not resolved, there is one Gaza now, and this will become fifty Gazas."

Turkey is included in this as well!

Despite these sentences, which reek of threats and blackmail, we all sat down and started waiting to see if he would make a statement on February 15, and if so, what he would say.

Do not think, "How dare he!"

He both trusts his imperialist masters and believes that the government in Turkey is dependent on him.

No matter what he says, no matter how he threatens, no matter how he blackmails, he is aware that the people of my country will not raise their voices.

That is why he is extremely comfortable.

It is as if he is governing Turkey from İmralı, setting the tone for politics, and telling the government what to do and what not to do.

Or worse, he is threatening!

He is setting the country's agenda.

But more painful and more dire is the fact that all of this is gradually becoming normalized in the perception of my country's people.

The reality that he is a blood-stained terrorist responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people is slowly fading, and in its place, an image of the so-called "wise leader of the oppressed Kurdish people" who has been unjustly imprisoned in İmralı since 1999 is being carefully crafted.

They are weaving it meticulously, like a rug.

Let us put the palace-funded sycophants aside; it is very clear who and what they serve, but even on news channels that claim to be opposition, there are presenters, programmers, and others who do not openly call Abdullah Öcalan a terrorist, who refrain from doing so, and who secretly praise him whenever they find the opportunity.

As if the leader of a political party with a group in Parliament had made a statement, they are announcing it.

The people of my country may not be fully aware, but the real danger lies here.

Even if the government, for the sake of its own political future, tries to normalize a terrorist who has been soaking the country in blood for decades and tries to make him appear reasonable and acceptable, the masses who still believe in the secular, democratic rule of law tied to the founding values of the republic must not fall into this trap.

However, even the CHP, which should be fortifying and keeping this mass together, has no clear stance on the issue! 

Özgür Özel is constantly playing it safe.

If anyone can extract the CHP's clear political position against the government's "new paradigm" from the word salad he produces when he takes the podium, let them come forward.

It is as if he has no fundamental objection and is just in the mood to review the procedure. 

Yet, he should have been shaking the heavens and the earth against this arrogant attitude of Abdullah Öcalan. When Özgür Özel's concern is to scrape up a few votes from Kurdish nationalists, he prefers to turn a blind eye.

The approach of the DEM party members is already known to everyone.

Even if the country is torn to pieces and even if the republic is completely destroyed, they only look at "what is in it for us." 

Their only concern is for Abdullah Öcalan to get out of prison.

They are not interested in the rest anyway.

Recently, I was having a casual chat with a senior university student. He was studying international relations, and like many young people, he wanted to move to America as soon as he finished school.

When I told him I was a journalist, perhaps out of a desire to prove himself, he said, "I never miss the news on Halk TV and Sözcü TV; I definitely watch them every evening."

Good for you, how nice...

Then the conversation turned to the issue of Bahçeli wanting Abdullah Öcalan to be released. I suddenly realized that our young man studying international relations was unaware that Abdullah Öcalan had led a bloody terrorist organization for years. He had only heard of him; he was not aware that he was responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of this country's children for years. Perhaps it had reached his ears somewhere, but he had not paid much attention. He does not know what he is serving his sentence for in İmralı.

Influenced by the rote learning of the Kurdish nationalists at his school, he mumbled something about a political solution.

Yet, at the beginning of our conversation, he was saying how much of an Atatürkist and a Republican he was, and that the country could only recover by embracing its founding values. He said his father was an admirer of Uğur Mumcu, and his grandfather was a teacher who graduated from the Village Institutes, and so on.

I did not want to prolong the conversation.

"Young man," I said, "no matter which channel you watch, which news or program you follow, no matter which newspaper or website you read, first pass it through the filter of your own mind and intellect. Question every piece of information, think carefully before accepting it. Do not drown in the information pollution of the virtual world."

He was a smart kid; he understood what I meant!

As we said goodbye, he said, "Talking to you has broadened my horizons; now I will do a nice 'Google search' on all of this and read up on it," and he left my side.
