If it hits Turkey...

When Israel struck Hamas's negotiation delegation in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on September 9, things got chaotic.

Attention immediately turned to Turkey.

We reacted without wasting any time. We announced that Turkey would stand by Qatar with all its resources and that “joint steps” would be taken against the attack, and so on.

The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying, “This situation is clear proof of Israel's expansionist policy in the region and its adoption of terrorism as a state policy.” Tayyip Erdoğan did not want to settle for written statements regarding Turkey's support. He called his close friend, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Al Thani, and when that wasn't enough, he hopped on a plane and went to Qatar.

Everything is as it should be up to this point.

Because Qatar is Turkey's most important ally in the region.

There has always been a spring-like atmosphere in relations since the AKP came to power. In 2014, we became “strategic partners.”

In exchange for Turkey's political support and security umbrella, sacks of dollars came from Qatar. Whenever the government here was strapped for cash, Al Thani would rush to Tayyip Erdoğan's aid, saying, “What's a little money between friends?”

A relationship that is quite rational in its own right...

However, when the issue comes down to Hamas, things get a bit complicated.

Let us try to explain it as best we can.

It has become quite clear in recent times that their masters have written off Hamas.

There are surely those who think it was written off long ago, but we know that imperialism does not easily give up on the useful tools in its hands. Especially when it comes to the Middle East, collaborators and their subcontractors are of great importance.

They do not quickly discard the proxies who do their bidding; they leave them fallow until it is time to assign them a new task.

There are dozens of examples in recent history. Those who are curious can look at Al-Qaeda and then ISIS, for instance.

However, it seems they will not be giving them a role in the Middle East theater as they did before. We can assume that they no longer have any further need for Hamas in this form.

In any case, since 2006, it has fulfilled everything it was supposed to do on behalf of its masters, without exception. It has completed its mission quite well.

Most importantly, during this time, it legitimized someone like Netanyahu, who has become an object of hatred; it pulled politics as far to the “right” as it could, polarized Israel, and “constructed consent” for the Jewish society, which comes from a tradition of collectivism, to fall under the rule of a one-man regime.

But more painfully and more gravely, it pressed the button for the process that drenched the Middle East in blood on October 7.

The rare flowers of post-modern fascism, Netanyahu and Trump, are now going head-on instead of playing British-style foxiness.

In other words, instead of “soft” diplomacy, a “hardcore” approach is in question.

In short, they are having Netanyahu close the book on Hamas.

And he, taking this as an opportunity, is spreading terror. So much so that he has almost wiped Gaza off the map, along with the people inside it, before the eyes of the so-called civilized world.

If the Muslim Brotherhood hadn't blundered during the Arab Spring, we might have seen a very different Hamas today.

Let us stop here, take a breath, and remember Marx's words, “Whatever happened in history happened because it had to happen that way, it could not have been otherwise,” and continue.

So what happened now that the imperialists have written off this useful tool?

Actually, we could see that the tide was turning from Iran having its wings clipped in Syria and Lebanon, and furthermore, from the strike in the middle of Tehran against the Chief of General Staff and the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards.

We understood that the matter would not end at this point, as Israel was acting as comfortably as if it were walking through a village without dogs or sticks.

There was no one to ask, no one to question. After all, the West was behind it one way or another. While possessing strong support behind it, it seized a very good opportunity to eliminate Hamas.

To understand the political and strategic importance of Israel's operation against Hamas in Qatar, one must read the developments within this framework.

The issue is not just an assassination targeting the leading figures of the organization.

It also carries a heavy political message.

That is, for those who understand.

Now, it is being debated whether Israel will hit Turkey.

Hamas officials last came to Turkey on August 1, and Hakan Fidan met with Hamas Shura Council Chairman Mohammed Darwish and his accompanying delegation in Istanbul. İbrahim Kalın also sat at the table with the same delegation last on June 29.

But that is all. Even though they are very close, the government did not want Hamas to move its political office to Turkey.

It is highly probable that they sensed it would become a burden.

Let us underline this with a thick pen. But they continued to view it as a “resistance and liberation organization.” For example, they placed a reservation on the New York Declaration, which called on Hamas to lay down its arms and was supported by the European Union and the Arab League, saying, “I am not standing on that side.”

So, can Israel use all of this as an excuse to carry out an operation against Turkey like it did in Qatar?

Let us not say it is impossible.

But it does not need to.

Whatever Netanyahu's problem is, he goes and tells Trump. He then calls Ankara, and the matter is resolved. After all, his word is law.

If Trump were to come out and say, “Stop meeting with these Hamas people,” would our side say “no”?

If nothing else, Israel uses the PKK and ISIS sticks it has in its hand. It has one or two terrorist acts carried out and gets what it wants from Ankara.

In short, Netanyahu knows very well that Tayyip Erdoğan is the person who will cooperate best with America during a period when the Middle East is being reshaped. He is also aware that this is in Israel's interest.

It suits them for the political Islamists to remain in power in Turkey. On the other hand, the roads from Turkey to Israel have never closed since the war began.

Why would they jeopardize that!

But what if Tayyip Erdoğan faces the risk of losing power!

This is exactly where the rubber meets the road.

At that moment, an “influence” from the outside is needed for the people of my country to be consolidated and to align behind Tayyip Erdoğan, and Israel is a perfect fit for this.

Do not say it cannot happen, it will not happen.

If Israel makes a conscious mistake by targeting Turkey, let us understand that this is to save the AKP and keep Tayyip Erdoğan in power!
