It turns out Ekrem isn't the biggest radish in the patch!

We were just in the middle of debating whether Ekrem or Mansur would be the CHP's presidential candidate when everything went up in smoke.

An investigation into "irregularities" has been launched into the CHP congress that Özgür Özel won.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office dropped a bombshell with its statement: "Following a report made to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office alleging that 'votes were cast in exchange for money on the day of the congress' at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Congress held in Ankara, the documents were sent to our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to lack of jurisdiction, and an investigation has been initiated by our office. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Akif Hamzaçebi have been summoned to testify as witnesses due to their statements in the press and on social media regarding the incident subject to the investigation. The investigation is being conducted meticulously."

However, one should not be surprised at all.

Tayyip had already fired the flare, repeatedly calling the CHP congress "tainted" with emphasis.

Once the Prosecutor's Office took action, the market was thrown into chaos.

Now they are pinning the bill on Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Recently, he had demanded that the CHP make an official statement regarding these allegations and had taken a characteristically tough stance:

"If you don't, silence implies consent, and that means there is something else going on here."

It is no secret that Kılıçdaroğlu does not care for Özgür Özel and his entourage, but one should not attribute his words solely to that.

Because these allegations of irregularity did not emerge today or yesterday.

The day after the congress, there was talk about some delegates being bought, how much money was given to these delegates, and who acted as intermediaries.

Whether there is any truth to it or not, if such serious rumors are circulating in public, Özgür Özel should have realized the danger, nipped them in the bud from the very beginning, and taken his own precautions.

But he didn't.

Perhaps he didn't care. Perhaps he thought nothing would come of it, we don't know.

But you don't need a crystal ball to predict that the matter would end up here.

I mean, with such grave allegations out there, would Tayyip just ignore them and stay silent while the CHP is finally gaining some momentum?

Is that possible!

Certainly not.

Moreover, the timing is suspicious. Just as the fault lines within the party were about to crack due to the candidacy issue, the government pressed the button.

It seems Özgür Özel has not yet learned that Tayyip will never miss an opportunity to meddle in the CHP's affairs, and that no one can hold a candle to him in political engineering.

Let's be honest and face the facts: the circumstances are manifesting in a highly unfavorable manner for them.

There is a sense of bewilderment among CHP members, a state of not knowing what to do, and even if they try to hide it, there is a slight air of panic.

They are sitting there, deep in thought, like a bird on a wire.

If this matter goes as far as the cancellation of the congress, then all is lost.

It is unknown how far the thread will unravel. Ekrem's enthusiasm could be cut short, and Mansur could be left empty-handed.

There are hundreds of questions waiting for answers.

For instance, what if the government appoints a trustee to the CHP?

Oh, they wouldn't go that far, they can't do that...

They would do it without hesitation, let no one have any doubts. They would even convince the undecided voters; in fact, to discredit the CHP and lower it in the eyes of our people, they would appoint such a trustee that the whole world would be left speechless in astonishment.

Then what?

The CHP would be torn to pieces; both Ekrem and Mansur would go their own ways, and Özgür Özel would be left completely exposed.

One doesn't need to be a prophet to predict how the government will blow this issue out of proportion against the CHP.

Unfortunately, these things are not like just hitting the ball as it comes, trading barbs with everyone, or shouting and yelling left and right.

We can think of this as the final reckoning of the political Islamist mentality with the founding philosophy.

If the CHP, which has somehow managed to survive as the last bastion of the Republic despite all the blows it has received from within and without, falls now, there will be no obstacles left to the establishment of a neo-Hamidian regime.
