Murderer!

On August 21, in the village of Tavşantepe in Diyarbakır, 8-year-old Narin was brutally murdered.

She was still in the spring of her life.

She was a lively child with eyes that shone with light.

She fell victim to a murder in the place she likely thought was the safest; in her village, in her home.

Like her peers, she could not step into her primary school classroom on Monday; instead, she was laid to rest in the bosom of the dark earth.

Who knows what dreams she had, what hopes for life.

From the very beginning, every day, every hour, every minute, information has been spilling out like foul pus from a burst abscess; it shows that Narin was taken from life by the people closest to her, the people she trusted the most.

We do not yet know what dirty secrets exist in that village that could cost an innocent child her life.

As far as we can understand, the murder of Narin is not just a family tragedy.

It is more than that...

Let us underline this with a thick pen:

Narin was murdered collectively.

Father Time, with his white beard, will write in his black-bound ledger: her family, the relatives living in Tavşantepe Village who tried to cover up the murder by remaining silent, the tribal leaders who told the villagers to keep quiet; he will write them all, every single one of them, as the perpetrators of this murder.

Whether this atrocity will weigh on their consciences is hard to say, but everyone who knows what happened and does not speak is an accomplice to the murder.

Can this be explained only by "organized ignorance" and "fear"!

Such allegations are being made that one's blood runs cold.

In fact, it is even being said that Narin's lifeless body was found days earlier, but then, whatever happened, an attempt was made to destroy it again; and that instructions were even sent to Diyarbakır so that the matter would not touch the government. Because Galip Ensarioğlu revealed the situation, someone at the Palace was furious. That is why he is now trying to apologize in his own way by saying things like he will quit politics.

In short, the truth will surely come out, if not today, then tomorrow or the day after.

But it seems the murder will continue to remain on the country's agenda with many different aspects...

For instance, while looking at the feudal relations, religious and conservative mentalities, and their proximity to political Islamist politics and the ruling party during this process, we suddenly noticed that there is incredible wealth in the village.

It is not just a little.

Car dealerships bearing the Güran name, latest-model Mercedes with flashing lights, million-dollar cars; the luxury and ostentation reflected in TikTok videos...

Even the confessor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who is a construction worker, was reportedly earning 300 thousand TL per month.

Did their wealth come only from the cotton and corn planted on the 6 thousand decares of irrigated land they are said to own? Or are there some illegal businesses going on that no one knows about? Who is involved in these matters, and where?

These and dozens of similar questions are waiting for answers.

We may learn who killed Narin and why after a while, but it is much more important for us to understand the dark mentality behind it and the sociology that feeds that mentality.

When we understand this and determine our stance accordingly, perhaps we will have a chance to prevent other Narins from being murdered.

When we look from this perspective, the issue is of critical importance because the current government, which sees Islamist Kurds as a vote bank, relies exactly on this sociology in the region.

To ensure that the block votes received in elections do not drift elsewhere, it carefully keeps religious, conservative, and feudal tribal structures alive. That is why it feeds lack of education and ignorance; it formats little children in Quran courses; it ensures they are raised according to the role assigned by the male-dominated, medieval-remnant system.

The sheikhs, dervishes, and landlords are already quite pleased. Their order has not been disrupted; in fact, they have become stronger with the support of the government.

It is for this reason that the background of the brutal murder of the beautiful Narin must not remain "blurry" so that the people of my country can see and understand the entire chain, from the archaic mentality in the region to the political Islamist government, in all its nakedness.

Let us not go far.

The AKP general who choked and took captive the FETÖ members on July 15 came out the other day and said, "The purpose of education is not to acquire knowledge."

He said the purpose of education is, first, the fear of God, and second, to be ashamed before one's fellow man.

Then he continued:

"If this is not provided, this is the picture we see.

Will you deal with atheists or deists this time?

Will you deal with LGBT, will you deal with drugs?"

The person saying these things is a figure who once served as Chief of General Staff.

It is impossible not to be horrified!

We do not know if he might have set his sights on replacing the Sheikh-ul-Islam wannabe Ali because being a member of parliament did not satisfy him after retirement, but as my dear writer friend Berrin Yelkenbiçer, a classmate from Bursa Anatolian High School, expressed, the mindset behind what Hulusi said is the reason why Turkey cannot protect its children like Narin.

Let us strongly emphasize that the country must urgently get rid of this mindset and return to the founding settings of the republic; let us end our article by saying that if this cycle continues like this, more Narins will be taken from this life.
