Rest in peace...

The dust has not yet settled, but the picture is slowly becoming clear.

Syria has reached the end of its history.

The beautiful country is crumbling a little more each day. 

It is already divided into four or five pieces.

Political unity is already non-existent. As for territorial integrity, that is a lost cause.

In Western countries, where the media is largely managed by 'woke' mentalities weakened by identity politics, and among the palace-fed commentators here, they try to pass off Salafi terrorists as 'revolutionaries.' However, the cold, hard truth is that Syria has anchored itself in the Middle Ages with jihadists who captured Damascus without firing almost a single shot.

Until just a short time ago, it was one of the few countries in the Arab world that embraced a secular lifestyle, but it now appears to have fallen under an Islamic regime, even if not yet officially.

There is no talk of holding elections, establishing a joint administration, or fostering dialogue between the groups in the country. 

No one should wait in vain.

The Salafi mindset is calculating how to turn Syria into Afghanistan.

Will it work? The possibility is growing stronger.

As for those talking about democracy, human rights, fundamental rights and freedoms, and the rule of law—good luck finding them. It is no one's concern.

And that includes Western countries!

The real issue today is the division of the spoils!

When we listen to the deep corridors of Ankara, there is a serious negotiation being conducted in secret. 

Moreover, this has already begun.

It is said that America's security bureaucracy, fearing that Trump might decide to withdraw troops from the Middle East once he settles into the White House, has given the green light to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, effectively telling them to go ahead and topple Assad.

They calculated that once chaos erupted, Trump would be unable to reverse course, and they took a step to tie his hands before he even moves into the White House.

We will find out what happens next in due time.

But under any circumstances, whether you call them PYD, SDF, or PKK, the Kurds remain a "strategic ally" for America.

This is not even up for debate. To think that Trump would abandon this would be naive.

Of course, their true intention is to establish full control over the hydrocarbon resources held by the Kurds in Syria, and then to strengthen and solidify this structure for the sake of Israel's security. 

Following that, the Kurdish corridor extending to the Mediterranean...

There is no possibility of them stepping back from this position just because the government in our country wants them to.

Perhaps Trump will delegate the entire matter to Tayyip. He might say, 'Sit in that chair as long as you like, you have my full support, as long as you resolve this in a way that does not harm my interests!'

Looking at Trump's recent statements, this is not at all out of the question!

As for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, it is a tactical element to be used by America until the waters calm down.

Just as they unleashed ISIS 10 years ago to bring Iraq and Syria to the desired state and then pulled the plug on them, the same fate will likely await the jihadists who are now conquering Damascus and shouting for Sharia. 

But not today or tomorrow. 

These are issues for the medium and long term.

In short, America and Israel hold the strings of both the Kurds and the jihadists. In a sense, the negotiations at the table will be conducted by the puppets whose strings they personally hold and manipulate.

In five or ten years, it will make a great film script for Hollywood.

As for our side...

They might sell the photos taken while praying in the Umayyad Mosque to their domestic audience, but when it comes to the reality on the ground, it is unclear how they will compete with America.

Or whether they even want to compete, we do not know.

Then there is the Syrian National Army, those so-called Syrian opposition fighters whom the government has trained, equipped, and put on the payroll with great hopes for many years.

For now, Turkey is using them to limit the territorial control of the PKK's garrison statelet. However, if Hayat Tahrir al-Sham becomes a center of attraction—which it appears to be—they will likely want to voluntarily resign from our service and enlist there.

In other words, we might be left with no one at all.

One does not need to be a prophet to predict what comes next.

In the foreseeable future, we will have one or more emirates governed by Salafi jihadists similar to Afghanistan right to our south, and right next to it, a PKK garrison statelet under American protection that constantly harasses and provokes Turkey...

For now, it seems the Russians will not be at the negotiating table.

It is understood that Putin, who has stood firmly behind Assad since 2011, now wants to resolve all these issues by speaking with the United States at a bilateral level.

Israel, meanwhile, is acting as if it owns the place, with its soldiers nearly entering Damascus.

They have approached within 19 kilometers of the capital.

Let us note that Netanyahu never misses an opportunity. The Israeli government has most recently approved an "incentive plan" to expand settlements in the Golan Heights.

This means the map is being permanently altered. As for the jihadists, they are in no position to show any reaction to their masters—heaven forbid—and have all fallen into a silence of the lambs.

Our government, in the face of this critical development, has contented itself with merely condemning Israel harshly and continues to whistle and look the other way.

It has now become abundantly clear that the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, created such a pretext for Israel that it now has the audacity to occupy Syria after leveling Gaza and clipping the wings of Hezbollah.

In short, when the white-bearded father of history writes about the 21st century, he will undoubtedly describe these days as the "dystopia of the Middle East!"
