She pulled the pin on the bomb and dropped it in the CHP's lap!

Nevşin Mengü has stirred things up quite a bit.

While sharing insider information she received from Ankara, she claimed that the Public Prosecutor had sent a 'special' message to Kılıçdaroğlu regarding the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the CHP Convention.

The prosecutor reportedly said:

“If Mr. Kemal comes here, gives his statement, and says, 'Oh, come on, how could that be! Could there be corruption in the CHP? Especially when I was the chairman at the time, it was my own chairmanship, a convention I organized myself. Things happened this way or that, these are the allegations. I absolutely do not accept such a thing. It did not happen. I did not see it, I did not witness it,' then we will close this file.”

Let's pause here and take a deep breath.

In today's Turkey, for a public prosecutor to be able to send such a message to the former chairman of the main opposition party, they would have to be incredibly bold—or, as the old saying goes, have nerves of steel—unless, of course, what they are doing is not without the knowledge of the palace...

That is a separate topic of discussion, but the aspect of the matter concerning the CHP is extremely serious.

If we accept the allegation as true—and Nevşin Mengü insists she stands by her report—the meaning of Kılıçdaroğlu not having gone to give a statement is clear.

“Not closing the file.”

We do not yet know whether the prosecutor received this message or, if they did, what stance they will take.

The next hearing is on June 30. If a decision is reached, we will find out then.

However, the fact that the following statements were entered into the court record of the last hearing is not a good sign for the CHP: “It is understood that this is a lawsuit regarding the determination that the convention held on November 4-5, 2023, is null and void, its cancellation, the removal of Özgür Özel and the members of the Central Executive Board (MYK) and Party Assembly from office on the grounds that it was flawed due to absolute nullity (the invalidation of a legal transaction because it does not comply with the conditions set by contract and law), and the reinstatement of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the previous Party Assembly members to their duties.”

Let's say the court hands the keys to the CHP back to Kılıçdaroğlu.

As we have said before, then all hell will break loose!

But for some reason, we all seem to be watching a blind brawl. It is unclear who is saying what, what they mean, or what they are doing.

Everyone is shouting from a different page.

Insults and threats against Nevşin Mengü are a dime a dozen.

Resorting to 'ad hominem' attacks by calling her a “funded journalist” or a “mouthpiece for her master” does not solve the issue. The allegations she has put forward are not something to be brushed aside.

CHP members are ignoring the questions that really need to be answered and are engaging in a childish approach, as if whoever shouts the loudest is right.

For example, Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, said whatever came to his mind on his social media account, even threatening her by saying, “If you cannot disclose your source, you will have admitted that you are speaking lies under the influence of being manipulated, and that you are slandering knowingly!... I will make sure you pay the price for this slander before the law!” but then he immediately added, “I cannot comment on whether Mr. Kemal will return or not.”

My friend, isn't that the very essence of the matter!

If you cannot say, “Mr. Kemal will definitely not return, he has closed that chapter,” then everything you said before has no meaning.

Nevşin Mengü even suggested that Kılıçdaroğlu should say, “I will not be appointed like a trustee, the convention file is closed,” but there has been no sound from that camp.

Now, let's read the tape in reverse.

It is no secret that İmamoğlu intervened in favor of Özgür Özel at the CHP convention and convinced some of the delegates.

All of this was already reflected in political circles the very next day.

We do not know if there was any impropriety here, but if there was, and if the Chairmanship was taken from Kılıçdaroğlu unjustly and unlawfully, what will happen?

Would it be right for him to say, “What's done is done, it's best I just step aside and sit in my corner,” or should he say, “If there is such an injustice, it must come to light”?

Unfortunately, the current state and conditions of the country require Kılıçdaroğlu to act with “strategic intelligence,” thinking not just about tomorrow, but about the day after tomorrow.

Otherwise, that seat is not his, nor is it the deeded property of Özgür Özel's father.

As the country speeds toward the abyss like a truck with failed brakes, history will not forgive those who fall into the trap of those who want to tear the CHP to pieces, and with that, we conclude our article.
