‘The Madman Theory’

His speech at the UN General Assembly once again showed that the world is facing a very serious “Trump” problem.

In fact, he had already fired the warning shot for this speech after his summit with Putin in Alaska, where he lined up European leaders in the White House like a row of Nazilli glasses and gave them a good dressing down.

For those who know him even a little, it was no surprise.

What he said back then was not easy to swallow either. But surely no one predicted, or could have predicted, that he would go this far.

Had there been no mishap, he would have read a text written by White House or State Department bureaucrats, perhaps more balanced and measured, and delivered his messages in diplomatic language.

Unfortunately, as if the devil had nothing better to do, the teleprompter broke.

Perhaps he invented such an excuse to say whatever was on his mind comfortably. We do not know.

The opportunity was there; he said, “I don’t mind doing the speech without the teleprompter because the teleprompter isn’t working. But I’m happy to be here with you, so I can speak more from the heart. But whoever is managing the teleprompter is in big trouble,” and continued.

We understood what he meant by ‘speaking from the heart’ when he went on the offensive.

It was not just any offensive.

It was as if a conceited, intolerant, ignorant small-town politician was at the podium, spewing hatred at those in front of him.

He said whatever came to his mouth, pouring out whatever he had been bottling up. He didn't just lecture his counterparts; he got angry, belittled them, and insulted them.

His speech needs to be evaluated not only by political scientists and diplomats, but also by social psychologists, and especially by psychiatrists.

Regardless, as a political freak of postmodern fascism, Trump challenged the whole world; everyone who is not like him, who does not think like him, and who does not pledge allegiance to him.

It is as if the flesh-and-blood embodiment of the sick mentality of neoliberalism is declaring the paradigm of the new order as we head toward the second half of the 21st century.

He has no fear of anyone, he does not hesitate. He is aware of the power he holds.

He is surfing on the peaks of narcissism. He has no filter; nor does he have any concern for humanity!

No one can predict what he will do or when. It is said that after Richard Nixon, Trump has been the President who has centralized foreign policy the most.

That is true.

However, this has also made America's political decisions dependent on Trump's sick temperament. In a short time, he turned his own unpredictability into an important strategic and political asset.

In other words, he created a doctrine. He does not hesitate to say this.

For example, when asked if he would join an attack on Iran alongside Israel, he said, “I could do it. I might not. No one knows what I will do.” Later, when he gave Iran a two-week deadline to return to negotiations, he had convinced the world of this, but despite these words, he gave the order to bomb Iran a few days later.

Political scientists are trying to explain Trump's actions with the “Madman Theory.”

Exactly as the name suggests. What more can be said?

His only concern is to be the boss of the world. It is that clear and simple. It is very obvious that he has fallen heavily into the delusion that the universe revolves around him.

He considers it a skill to openly reveal whatever should be said behind closed doors.

For example, he said, “European countries are buying oil and natural gas from Russia while fighting against Russia. This is a shameful situation for them.”

Yet, that is not his real concern; the Europeans will stop imports from Russia; thus, America will be able to sell shale gas. In other words, Europe will ignore its own interests and put money into America's pocket so that he will be satisfied.

There is no situation to be surprised about, because when you scratch the surface, a greedy businessman emerges from underneath. Nothing more.

Since he looks at international relations from this perspective, anyone with a sound mind knows very well that one should not rely on Trump in strategic matters such as security and energy.

In short, there are three years ahead that will certainly not be easy for the world until the day he leaves the White House, never to return.
