TOGG has gone on sale in Germany.
There were two main reasons why the brand chose Germany as its first market among European Union countries.
The first, of course, is the Turkish population living in Germany.
The second is the desire to make a statement in Germany, the automotive giant.
Both are very understandable strategies for marketing.
It is also a very reasonable approach to want to sell to those who have an "established order" in Germany.
However, the fact that it is sold cheaper there than in Turkey cannot be explained even by the high taxes imposed on us.
But I am not going to compare brand-new cars today.
Things are not going well in Turkey.
We understand this from the increasing number of foreclosure files.
According to Ministry of Justice statistics, the number of files transferred to enforcement offices increased by 2 million 666 thousand from the beginning of the year to the end of November, reaching 24 million 992 thousand and approaching the 25 million mark.
This is a historical record relative to the population.
This means that almost one in every 3 people has a foreclosure file (there is/can be more than one file per person or institution).

Today, there are 4 TOGGs for sale at foreclosure auctions.
Enforcement offices in Istanbul, Gaziantep, Trabzon, and Mudanya have issued notices for the sale of these vehicles.
The TOGG up for sale at a foreclosure auction in Trabzon is a 2023 model.
It is one of the first cars to arrive in the city, where people took photos next to it.
It has the license plate 61TOG090 and is a 2023 model year.
The estimated value for this vehicle has been set at 1,600,000 TL.
In Germany, the lowest version of the T10X is listed at 34,295 euros, including taxes.
The same model is sold in Turkey for 1 million 862 thousand liras, including taxes.
The starting price for the one being sold at a foreclosure auction in Turkey, which is about to turn 3 years old, is 1.6 million TL.
The license plate of the TOGG, which will be sold by the Istanbul 12th Enforcement Office via auction, is 34KMZ519.
This vehicle is a 2024 model with 30 thousand kilometers.
Since the vehicle does not have a key, it could not be started; in other words, the person who buys it will have to buy a set of tires and also solve the key problem.
It is the T10X V2 Long Range rear-wheel-drive version.
The estimated value is 1,770,000 TL.
How is it that a car you buy 50 kilometers away from the factory in Bursa is sold cheaper 2400 kilometers away?
The same situation exists for white goods produced in Turkey.
The tax applied to white goods is lower than that on automobiles.
Despite this, a washing machine produced in Manisa is cheaper in Germany.
The main reason is export incentives.
Our exporters do not need to produce high-value-added products and compete.
They have massive state support behind them.
