Why has Trump become so unhinged?

World history has rarely witnessed such a statement. 

Today, Trump threatened Iran, saying, "Tonight, a civilization will be destroyed and will never return."

Furthermore, when asked, "Wouldn't striking bridges and energy infrastructure in Iran be a war crime?" his response, "They are animals," is not just ordinary political harshness; it is the manifestation of a mindset that changes the very nature of war. For a perspective that does not view the opposing side as "human" also eliminates the distinction between civilians and soldiers and legitimizes infrastructure targets. 

This approach also demonstrates that the deterrent power of international law is weakening, that war is becoming increasingly lawless, and that a psychological threshold has been crossed. From this point on, the issue is no longer just military; it is transforming into a strategy of attrition and collapse that directly targets societies.

A few days ago, the same Trump used vulgar and profane language regarding the Strait of Hormuz that is unbecoming of a head of state.

This language belongs not to the leader of a superpower, but to despots who have lost their reason and balance.

Why has Trump, who controls 5,000 nuclear warheads, reached this limit of instability?

-The operation to rescue the pilot of the downed F-15 aircraft was, according to many sources, actually an operation to seize enriched uranium. However, in terms of its results, it was far more costly than the 1980 hostage rescue operation (Operation Eagle Claw) and caused a massive loss of prestige on the world stage. It turned into an operation where nearly 10 aircraft and roughly $400 million were spent to save a single person—not just in U.S. history, but in world history. The failed operation in 1980 had caused President Jimmy Carter to lose the election. This war, which Trump has entered on behalf of Israel, will undoubtedly cause him serious weakness in the November midterm elections. Trump is experiencing this panic.

-Trump's cabinet members are making serious gaffes and mistakes one after another. The Congress and the public have lost confidence in many officials, starting with the Secretary of War. While Trump is constantly dismissing ministers, Hegseth is purging generals/admirals. This only happens during very serious collapses and crises.

-In American public opinion, the belief that this war is being fought for Israel's interests and is also aimed at covering up the Epstein files is growing every day.

-Statesmen and soldiers in the U.S. who are in their right minds know that the consequences of fighting a war with Iran for the sake of Israel will negatively affect the future reckoning with China, the primary geopolitical rival. Despite this reality, Trump's causing the decline of U.S. military power on one hand, and withdrawing weapons allocated for the protection of allies in the Asia-Pacific to the region on the other, is creating great discomfort.

-Trump has taken his place in history as a president who accelerated the collapse of U.S. power and, consequently, the decline of the dollar's dominance. If the Iran War is not ended, there is no doubt that the American economy will enter a period of very rapid decline.

-This war is turning all global economic balances upside down. Europe is being dragged into a major crisis in energy security due to its rupture with Russia. A similar crisis is being experienced even more severely by U.S. allies in the Asia-Pacific basin, such as South Korea and Australia. This will accelerate the possibility of these states moving away from the U.S. sphere of influence in the coming period, much like the puppet states in the Gulf. These states see that alongside the U.S.'s already diminishing economic power, its military power is also in decline. If the Bab el-Mandeb Strait also closes after the closure of Hormuz, and the U.S. cannot prevent this development either, the $1.2 trillion American defense budget will have no meaning at all. 

Ultimately, Trump is rapidly dragging down not just a war, but the global position the U.S. has achieved over 250 years. This trajectory means erosion in a wide area, from the dominance of the dollar to military deterrence.

Threatening to wipe out a geography and civilization that has hosted a 2,500-year-old civilization like Iran is a mental breakdown the likes of which were not even seen in the Middle Ages. This rhetoric opens the door to a mindset that reminds one of crimes against humanity like the Holocaust. We would not want to believe that there are people who would approve of this decision by Trump, other than eschatological groups in Israel and the U.S. who believe in Armageddon.

This language is not easy to walk back. The moment it is spoken, it binds both the leader and the nation they represent. The U.S. was a "star country" that the world aspired to reach with the order it established after 1945. Today, however, with the Trump administration, it has rapidly turned into a lawless, valueless, collapsing power with no moral norms that is being distanced from and reacted against.

In our opinion, this is not democracy. This is the risk of an oligarchic structure acting against the interests of the people, staining an entire nation for the future.

We are sure that the American people will learn lessons from this process.

However, at the point reached today, it is not difficult to see that, apart from Israel and the Trump administration, the majority of the world stands in a position closer to Iran.
