From Can Baba to Yusuf Savaş Emek and today: The Utopians will gather again

We will gather again in our 32nd year. In Karaburun, the legacy of Börklüce. The torch passed from Can Yücel to Yusuf Savaş Emek is in our hands today. The ecologist, anti-imperialist spirit lives on in the bodies of Dağarcık Türkiye and its friends.

We are living in difficult times. Our geography and history are rich. However, they do not offer us the opportunity to live easy days. We are growing and raising others within this hardship.

I am sharing the call text for the 32nd Utopias Meeting:

32nd Utopias Meeting: Science Utopia and Dark Enlightenment

2026... The 400th anniversary of the publication of Francis Bacon's work, New Atlantis. The subject of the book: "The ideal society governed by science".

Francis Bacon, the author of this founding text of the modern scientific paradigm, describes a society governed by a scientific academy called Salomon’s House. This fictional space, the precursor to the Royal Society, refers to the King and Wise Solomon. Bacon attempts to dismantle the scholastic philosophy that framed Aristotelian philosophy and pave the way for science. In doing so, he draws upon ancient wisdom. Bacon opened a new era. This is the era of Enlightenment and Science.

However, the classes that advance the era change in quality. Institutions established by progressive ideas are used as shields for new masters. The brightest ideas begin to darken. That is exactly where we are today. The Enlightenment has begun to darken, to be darkened.

Those who use the symbolism of ancient wisdom and the technology gifted by science as weapons are implementing the most inhumane, most brutal, and most destructive policies. We are in the age of Dark Enlightenment. The Middle Ages had ended with the Enlightenment. The new Middle Ages is followed by the Dark Enlightenment. An "Enlightenment" without humans, stripped of humanity.

We are in a dystopia known as the "Dark Enlightenment". The WikiLeaks Documents, the revelations of Anonymous, the recent Epstein Scandal, and the anti-human movements led by New Atheist "intellectuals" like Sam Harris... These are some of the symptoms of the Dark Enlightenment... Is there a corruption of capitalists who monopolize science and finance behind this? Or is a policy of blackmail and intimidation being carried out under the guise of "corruption"? Is humanity being stripped of its humanity? Or is a rehearsal for the destruction of humanity being conducted? Is humanity being prepared for a new human or a transhuman?

The Utopians will discuss those who darken the horizon of humanity. We call upon those who seek the sparkling sky from the deepest mine shafts, from the darkest nights, from behind the thickest walls and bars. We invite you to understand the chains placed upon humanity and to reach beyond the darkness.
