The partnership is broken: We must set sail for new horizons

Those who forget imperialism, and those who want others to forget it, are remembering it once again. It is impossible not to remember. The Epstein case, the events in Gaza, the Russia-Ukraine War, the bureaucratic crisis within the EU, the customs war against China, the scenarios of an invasion of Iran, the Iran-Israel missile "skirmish"... Denying imperialism today is a psychotic state. It means the denial of reality. Of course, our theoretical approach to imperialism may differ. But when handled within a loose framework, denying "imperialism" is denying reality.

I quoted this in a text I wrote 15 years ago. Atatürk has a concise definition that encompasses imperialism from its history to the present day:

"Even if they were to gift us today the most beautiful, most unimaginable peace conditions in the world in terms of borders, as long as this wheel of capitalism we speak of continues to exert its influence in its current form, our ruin is certain. In fact, not even like this, even if only a quarter of this devilish machine existed, the possibility of life for us would still be unthinkable... It is the one that defrauds our rich, and it is the one that robs our poor... It is the one that steals our goods and property, destroys our dignity and honor, tries to destroy our virtues one by one like a devil, and sets us against each other!" Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (July 20, 1920)

The devil comparison is so accurate, isn't it? Atatürk's exposure of the essential link between capitalism and imperialism is equally meaningful. However, today, we have gone far beyond that.

We are dealing with a mafia-like imperialism, a cult-like imperialism. We see both in the Epstein case. A ritualized evil, a brutality aestheticized with the image of a "cult," and devilry are plain to see. Similar things are happening in Turkey. The FETÖ and Adnan Oktar organizations are not just political or profit-oriented criminal organizations, but structures that are linked to global-scale espionage activities... Whether similar ones continue to exist is unknown.

Trying to understand or discuss today's world while ignoring imperialism and the economic and social structure behind it is meaningless. Such discussions are, to put it mildly, naivety; to put it strongly, they are propaganda aimed at concealing crime.

The imperialists are aware of the economic and social structure behind imperialism. If they weren't, would they curse a system and ideology that was thought to have collapsed 36 years ago, morning and night?

The question still remains. If imperialism is this powerful, whose work are these developments that expose the internal relations of imperialism? Did the oppressed nations defeat imperialism without realizing it? Or did the proletariat carry out a revolution? Behind every secret relationship that is exposed, there is a broken partnership. Who are those whose partnership has been broken? Perhaps there is a new transformation within imperialism. Understanding this new transformation correctly is critical for progressives and for Turkey. If we understand the transformation correctly, we can set sail for new horizons in the fight between imperialists.
