Imperialism, while imposing security-oriented policies on its own countries in the name of "democracy," establishes security-focused and terror-driven structures in the countries it exploits instead of democracy. For example, half of Turkey's budget has been spent on the fight against terrorism since 1984. For this reason, our state has experienced major economic and financial crises. Of course, corruption and theft are also forms of terrorism. These crises have made our country more economically and politically dependent on the outside world.
Do not forget; terrorism is not limited to countries, it is global. While they say "we have made peace" in our country, they make plans in other countries on how to fight against our country and how to organize. The most important way to eliminate crisis and terror in our country is to be economically strong.
A structure that cannot get the public behind it has never had a chance of success in any country. Our loss of national income per capita due to terrorist organizations and the fight against terrorism is approximately 5,000 dollars every year. If we had spent these amounts, which we transferred from our taxes to the fight against terrorism, on investments, industry, and agriculture, our country would have escaped the middle-income trap today.
And what about our thousands of citizens… The poor and humble children of Anatolia fell as martyrs for the salvation of our homeland. Perhaps these children who were martyred would have changed the fate of our country. Rest easy in the soil of the homeland, every inch of which has been watered with your blood. Anatolia is such a place that even if only one of us remains, we will hold them accountable. We will do anything for peace; however, if you want other things under the name of peace, we will continue from where we left off.
We must wage a struggle for political and economic revival in our country once again. O you ignoble people and thieves who rob this country! Wherever you sent what you stole or wherever you hid it, bring it back and surrender it to the state treasury. Furthermore, give an account of what you have stolen. If it were my own father who coveted a single penny of the state, his execution would be necessary.
You may have countries to go to; but we have no country to go to. Even if we are workers, farmers, cleaners, or painters in our country, we walk its streets with honor and live with our heads held high. We do not make any of our country's values a subject of negotiation with imperialist countries. And we do not look kindly upon those who do.
My final word: Do not let the Treaty of Sèvres, the Treaty of Lausanne, and the National War of Independence leave your minds. Otherwise, we must be prepared for a greater national struggle.
