The recent imperial attack and war against Iran have shown that the world is greater than five and a half. This war has once again proven that oppressed nations should not fear these five and a half states. It has been proven that in the face of the nation's national unity, every kind of attack by imperialists remains void. We have all seen how the countries that serve as the crutch and henchmen of imperialism have collapsed.
I would like to state once again that the Turkish National War of Liberation and struggle continues to be a beacon for oppressed nations, just as it was on the first day. There is no friendship with imperialist states. Those who think they are friends with imperialist states are doomed to be left in pitch darkness one day. While our country struggles with economic problems on one hand, and war and internal issues on the other; an opposition that is far from a display of national unity, that does not care if the world burns or our country is destroyed, and that is preoccupied with its own troubles, is another problem. The fact that the opposition has nothing to say even about daily problems is a separate act of negligence.
Our country is not ownerless and is not a banana republic. Let no one rejoice because we are surrounded by traitors. The law will take its course and justice will be served. Corruption and irregularities will be held to account. Those who rob the people and the state with the people's votes and taxes must be held accountable, their books must be closed, and they should even be stripped of their right to engage in politics. Crimes of corruption should be equal to the crime of treason.
Demands for more democracy and more freedom in our country and in the world will now give way to demands for security and defense for a long time. The increasing pressure on public resources during periods of economic hardship in our country has pushed individuals and institutions to seek more self-interest. This situation has created a more favorable environment for corruption.
Such a period has created a loyalty system, especially in municipalities, where instead of merit, those who follow every order and are ready for betrayal at any moment are prioritized. Proximity of interest was put forward instead of competence. As a result; power, lack of oversight, lack of transparency, and impunity have created today's high risk. The damage caused to our country due to the latest corruption is 80 billion dollars.
High inflation, unemployment, and income distribution problems have increased the pressure on public resources. Large projects, zoning rents, and public tenders have brought corruption debates and the search for a clean society to the agenda. Today, this "clean hands" struggle continues despite all obstacles. Those who covet even a penny of our country must be held accountable. Those who engage in corruption have prioritized their political futures instead of embracing the state.
Politics in our country is quite polarized. Therefore, when an allegation of corruption arises, people often take a position by looking at who is saying it, not at the event itself. The opposition also shows a harsh defensive reflex so as not to lose its own voters. This may seem successful in the short term; however, in the long term, the political losses will be great. The opposition must abandon its party reflex and put the country's reflex first. Spreading polarization and distrust in the judiciary will not have a long-term return for political communication strategies.
Our country has still not fully overcome the corruption incidents experienced in the 1990s. These latest corruption incidents will also take many years from our country. While the world is experiencing a new war of partition, some are after partitioning our country. The world is greater than 5.5; our country is greater than you.
