Am I supposed to fill Istanbul's potholes myself?

The first thing someone who leaves their home by car in Istanbul sees and receives service from is the roads. 

The first service someone who leaves their home on foot in Istanbul receives is buses and subways. 

Go ahead and ask, are the citizens satisfied?

I am not.

I go out in my car, and I also use buses and subways. 

Istanbul's roads are riddled with holes.

It's not just a little bit; for a long time now, Istanbul's roads have been riddled with holes. 

When we drive our beautiful cars from home to work or anywhere else, we don't know if we will return home with our cars in one piece. 

I don't know whether to feel sorry for our tires that get slashed when we hit those potholes or for our bumpers that are dented and broken all over.

Municipalities in Istanbul are not working.

I am not distinguishing between this party's municipality or that party's municipality. 

This is what I see.

We can neither travel properly in our cars, nor walk properly on the sidewalks, nor board buses and subways without being pushed and shoved. 

You will truly pay the price for this in these elections. 

You could start by filling the potholes first. 

We may live in million-dollar homes and ride in half-million-dollar cars, but we cannot fill 1,200 lira potholes. 

The cost of patching a 1-meter by 1-meter pothole, which can be done by 2 municipal workers, is 1,200 lira. 

The cost to the municipality is almost the price of 2 coffees. 

But it is not being done.

The cost of a large pothole: 1,200 lira. 

Material: 25 kg of hot asphalt gravel, 600 lira. 

Labor: 2 hours, 600 lira.

Total: 1,200 lira.

Municipalities are not doing a job that is almost free.

Perhaps it doesn't suit them because it's cheap. 

Those who travel in Europe know. 

2 workers patch all the roads.

Roads all over Europe are full of patches.

They repair all the roads damaged in winter throughout the spring and summer.

As I said, either you fix these roads as soon as possible, or know that in the next elections, you will leave those seats to someone who will get the job done.
