I wrote about this last week.
For Turkish citizens, obtaining a visa is not easy, in fact, it is not easy at all.
You might be able to get a visa, but even getting an appointment for it is a major issue in itself.
You try to get an appointment as a family, and even then, they give everyone different days.
I am not even mentioning the time we spend for visas and the visa fees.
Visa-free countries are now in vogue for Turkish people. Or countries where it is easy to get a visa.
Serbia is at the top of the list of countries that Turkish people visit most easily now.
Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is among the cities most preferred by Turks.
There is a high demand for Balkan tours.
Tours covering the cities of Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar, Kotor, Budva, Tirana, Ohrid, Bitola, and Skopje are both cheap and visa-free.
Then there are places where it is easy to get a visa.
Dubai is at the top of these.
The United Arab Emirates requires a visa from us.
It is very easy to get a visa. Our visa is issued in 2 days. The price of a single-entry visa is 150 dollars.
I also got my visa.
I had a wonderful trip to Dubai.
After a 4-hour flight, you land at Dubai Airport.
A train runs inside the airport.
The train takes you to passport control after you get off the plane.
You can find yourself outside the airport shortly after landing.
How is that possible for us?
If you can get out of the airport within 1 hour after the plane lands, consider yourself lucky.
The population of the United Arab Emirates is over 10 million as of 2024.
The United Arab Emirates consists of 7 emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.
The population of Dubai is also close to 4 million.
90 percent of Dubai's population consists of foreigners.
The currency of Dubai is the Dirham.
1 dollar is 3.67 Dirhams.
The Dirham has been pegged to the US dollar since 1997.
Isn't that nice?
Dubai is a very different place.
It is a very clean city.
It has its own rules.
Since the weather is very hot, life takes place in shopping malls, workplaces, and homes.
There is no security at the entrances to shopping malls.
Shopping malls open at 10:00 AM and close at 12:00 AM.
Almost no one locks their doors in homes or hotels.
Since life is spent in cars, people get gas and have their cars cleaned when they park to save time.
While you are eating your meal, your car's fuel is filled and it is cleaned.
One thing that caught my attention at gas stations is that no one turns off their car while refueling.
Since many people in Dubai have pets, grooming services also come to your door with vehicles.
Pet daycare is also one of the indispensable services in Dubai for employees.
Taking photos in open areas is prohibited in Dubai. Everyone pays close attention to this.
Using drones in Dubai is also prohibited. It is not allowed in any way. The biggest reason is both security and privacy.
I was very surprised when I heard it, and you will be surprised when you hear it too.
Feeding cats and dogs in Dubai is prohibited. There is even a fine for it.
Dubai has also thought of single women.
Do not miss the Lady's Night events in Dubai on Thursday nights.
Now I will tell you something else that will surprise you.
Valet parking is also free in Dubai.
Give your vehicle to any valet you want, and when you are done, come back to where you left it and take it back without paying any fee.
What can we say, may the same happen for Istanbulites.
