Don't touch the nurseries, or you'll get burned!

Within the process initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the General Directorate of Local Administrations of the Ministry of National Education, and continued by the Ministry of National Education, it has been reported that the nurseries opened by CHP-run municipalities are conducting activities that fall under the curriculum of preschool educational institutions and that these institutions must be closed.

Isn't it truly very interesting?

You would think that for years, AKP municipalities haven't been opening underground "Sıbyan" (preschool religious) schools. They don't direct families who apply to the municipality to those places. They don't put headscarves and fezzes on tiny babies and condition them with Umrah visit games.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR 37-MONTH-OLD BABIES

Aside from all that, what about the nurseries opened by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet)?

The age for admission to these nurseries has been set at 37 months.

One of the fundamental principles in Article 4 of the Directive on Nurseries and Day Care Centers, opened by the Presidency of Religious Affairs and in effect since 2012, is as follows:

“To enable children to recognize the values of the Islamic religion as one of the elements that give meaning to human life and to be able to use these values in their daily lives. To lay the foundation for them to grow up as individuals who know their rights and responsibilities, and to ensure they show healthy religious and moral development.”

What is expected of a 37-month-old child? To learn the values of the Islamic religion.

Religious education is being provided to children whose ability to perceive abstract concepts has not yet developed, and a condition is imposed to apply religious values in daily life.

Let's come to the Quran courses and memorization (Hafiz) training opened by the Diyanet.

The age for admission to the courses is 4... Yes, being just a 48-month-old child is enough.

So, what is being taught?

They receive their first education in Arabic. They learn the Elif-Ba (Arabic Alphabet). Then, a "Learning My Religion" course is given.

Some of the headings included in the course are as follows:

• I am learning the Kalima al-Tawhid and the Kalima al-Shahada.

• I believe in Allah, the Angels, and the Books.

• I believe in the Prophets.

• I believe in the Afterlife.

• I believe in Destiny and Divine Decree.

Then come the sections related to Worship, Siyer (Life of the Prophet), and Morality.

It doesn't end there; there is also a list of punishments they will receive according to the disciplinary regulation. There is a list of penalties reaching as far as expulsion from the school for damaging school property and not following the rules.

What is it?

They claim that the preschool curriculum, which is the next stage, is being applied to children in these nurseries. Well, wouldn't one ask, "What age group's education are you applying to a 37-month-old baby?"

We must ask; we must break our silence and hold them accountable for this mental genocide.

Gentlemen, state clearly what bothers you about the nurseries run by CHP municipalities!

The problem is not that these nurseries do not provide age-appropriate education to children; it is that they provide secular education, instill a love for Atatürk, and raise happy, fearless children who can use their own minds through artistic activities.
