Is the state's interlocutor the head of the terrorists?

The process that began with the ruling coalition partners, who clung to the head of the terrorists as their last hope, throwing the doors of the Turkish Grand National Assembly wide open to him, is continuing rapidly.

Following the Imralı visit, Öcalan's directives were shared with the public through statements made by the DEM Party.

Öcalan has been elevated to the position of a harbinger of peace, as if he were not the murderer of 40 thousand people.

Giving political discourse, he commanded that “all political circles should take initiative, act constructively, and provide positive contributions without getting caught up in narrow and periodic calculations.”

He declared that he “possesses the competence and determination to provide a positive contribution to the paradigm empowered by Erdoğan and Bahçeli.”

He said, “The era is an era of peace, democracy, and brotherhood for Turkey and the region.”

With these high-level statements, he also declared that he is the interlocutor of the State.

The voice of the government, which views the transformation of this baby-killer—the chief architect of terrorism in the region—into a “Peace Dove” as normal, was heard from the Palace.

In his statement, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said; “The existence of terrorism poisons democratic politics; where terrorism begins, democratic politics ends,” and declared to the nation that “the Century of Turkey will be a century of peace” and that “the path will continue with an inclusive understanding of the nation that embraces all these differences.”

It emerged through DEM Party statements that the process would be carried out quietly.

What the main opposition party will do in the face of this shameful picture is, of course, a matter of curiosity.

However, the statement made by the CHP Chairman provides some clues on this matter.

He shares the same view as Öcalan that the place for a solution is the Parliament. He has envisioned the process being conducted transparently.

However, the real question remains unanswered: What is the process? What is the solution?

It is extremely clear that it will not be possible for Öcalan to make the PKK and its extensions lay down their arms and dissolve themselves without being subject to any bargaining.

It is at this point that the issue rests on the negotiations for a New Constitution.

The “inclusive understanding of the nation that embraces differences” mentioned in Cevdet Yılmaz's statement comes into play.

It is not difficult to find the seeds of an understanding that does not find it sufficient for the concept of the Turkish Nation to already have an inclusive and embracing meaning that is not based on ethnic identity in this statement.

The demands that the DEM Party and the PKK have been announcing to the public for years are clear. We are facing a chain of phased demands that paves the way for an independent Kurdistan.

First, replacing the phrase 'Turkish Nation' in the Constitution with 'TC (Republic of Turkey) citizenship,' followed by a two-community structure to be initiated with education in the mother tongue and regional autonomy, are the first steps to be taken.

Undoubtedly, more will follow.

The first steps of heating the water have already begun to be taken.

Whether said with a frown or by shouting, with his invitation to the TBMM, he is no longer a terrorist head; he has been granted the title of Chairman of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party). He has been promoted to the position of an interlocutor for the State of the Republic of Turkey.

LET'S REWIND THE FILM

Turkey is not experiencing this scenario for the first time. Now let's go back to 2009 and remember the Habur fiasco once again.

It was October 19, 2009, the day terrorists in guerrilla clothing were welcomed at the border with PKK flags and Öcalan posters.

Tent courts were set up at the border for 34 PKK terrorists, and 4 prosecutors and one unauthorized Silopi judge were assigned.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, the Undersecretary of the MİT, and the Director General of Security were also in the welcoming committee.

The terrorists had also been asked to make a statement of remorse in order to benefit from the repentance law.

So, what happened?

Far from making a statement of remorse, they said they had come as “envoys,” that they were sent by Öcalan, that they were PKK members, and that they would continue to remain so.

How could the judges and prosecutors not have spoken up against these terrorists?

Hatip Dicle gave the answer to this.

He announced to the public that Minister Beşir Atalay had told Ahmet Türk, “The judges and prosecutors have been arranged. They will pass through just as they came.”

According to Ahmet Türk and Emine Ayna, the Habur entry was “a historic move by Abdullah Öcalan.”

On the same day, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made his historic statement regarding the Habur fiasco, in the shadow of buses adorned with PKK flags:

“Is it possible not to be hopeful in the face of the scene at the border?”

Habur was the day the State knelt before the terrorist organization!

DIVISIVE CONSTITUTION AND TURKISH IDENTITY

The first attempt to prepare a divisive Constitution took place in 2011.

The New Constitution delusion of the CHP of those days also remains in memories.

The “We are ready, we are sincere, if it's a Constitution, then a Constitution... Fine” statements made by Kılıçdaroğlu, ignoring all the warnings of nationalist deputies so as not to fall into the AKP's trap, of course, had a preliminary preparation.

In the document titled “New Constitution Vision in 10 Headings” announced in May 2011, while the concept of “Turkish Nation” was not included, the concept of “People of the Republic of Turkey” was emphasized.

I was among the handful of deputies who reacted to this.

However, days were being experienced in the CHP where “the one who took the horse had already passed Üsküdar.” Kılıçdaroğlu was answering Ali Kırca's questions on television on March 9, 2012;

After saying, “We will not define ethnic identity in the Constitution, it should not be done. We founded the republic from an empire,” he explained the definition of the upper identity as “citizen of the Republic of Turkey.”

In other words, Turkishness was an ethnic identity.

However, in 2011, the BDP's requests regarding the New Constitution were also extremely clear. Among the requests were the division of Turkey into states, each state having its own security forces and claiming its own underground resources, the representation of state presidents in the TBMM, and the gaining of autonomy, as well as the release of Öcalan.

In summary, what was wanted was a dual structure, a federated state consisting of Turkish and Kurdish peoples.

Now the question that needs to be answered is this: Is this the solution?

Is the process proposed to be carried out transparently the process of Turkey's disintegration?

Is the statement made by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 30, 2013, “We have not yet achieved the tolerance of the Ottomans regarding minorities and the state system. A strong Turkey should not be afraid of the state system,” coming to life again, and only to remain in power?

Has the nationalist vote-hunting that continued with the slogan “One nation-one flag-one state-one homeland” left its place to seeing Öcalan as a hope for power?

The fact that the fear of losing power, which created the opportunity for Öcalan to make his second historic move, is greater than the determination to protect the indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation, reveals the gravity of the situation we are in.

The CHP must do what is necessary in this historic process.

It must remember that it is the founder of the Republic of Turkey, it must not be a part of this trap, and it must meticulously protect this sacred legacy left to it.

It must realize that by protecting the nation-state and the unitary structure and by engaging in an effective struggle for this cause, it will save both Turkey and itself.

Millions of people are ready to take their places in the ranks of the CHP in this struggle.
