The Joshua Project and Christian Zionism

Netanyahu was given a standing ovation for minutes on end, multiple times, in the US Congress. As he thanked Biden, who 'calls himself an American Zionist,' neither of them felt the slightest discomfort regarding the trail of blood and the inhumane genocide they have left in their wake.

Christian Zionism transformed into a force driving imperialism following the September 11 attacks.

What is Christian Zionism? It is an ideology that advocates for the return of the Jewish people to the 'promised holy lands.' According to the belief of Christian Zionists, once the Jews return to the Holy Land, the second coming of Jesus will occur, and the 'Kingdom of God'  will be established, and Jesus will rule the world.

In February 1996, the 3rd International Christian Zionist Congress was held in Jerusalem. The declaration published at the end of this congress stated;

'That the Almighty Father God chose the People of Israel to reveal His plan of salvation for the world.' Furthermore, it included the message that 'the rebirth of the Nation of Israel is the fulfillment of prophecies in both the Old Testament (Torah) and the New Testament (Bible).'

Christian Zionism is the belief of Evangelicals, the most conservative wing of the Protestant denomination. Evangelicals are the successors of the conservative Protestants who founded the United States. They define themselves as Christian Zionists because the Holy Bible, consisting of both the Torah and the New Testament, is accepted as a whole by the Christian world.

The integrity between the Torah and the New Testament is most clearly presented in the Book of Revelation, one of the most important sections of the New Testament. The statement in the 21st chapter of Revelation is very clear.

John is a Saint, and he describes the revelation he experienced as follows:

“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God... And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.”

Where is Jerusalem? It is Kudüs...

Again, in the Revelation of John, there is mention of Armageddon, the battle that will take place when the end of the world arrives,  and the names of the 7 Churches that will herald the apocalypse.

Where are these 7 Churches?

In Western Anatolia, in the Aegean Region.

Their names are listed as follows: Ephesus, Smyrna (Izmir), Pergamum (Bergama), Thyatira (Akhisar), Sardis (Salihli), Philadelphia (Alaşehir), and Laodicea (Denizli).

According to the Revelation, Jesus will be reincarnated, descend upon one of these 7 churches, and the 1,000-year 'Golden Age,' or the 'Kingdom of God,' will begin.

Thus, as I mentioned in my previous article titled 'The Prophecy of Isaiah,' the common points of the Jewish faith and the Christian faith intersect in Anatolia, and Jesus declares his Kingdom in the land promised by God to Moses.

With this belief, Evangelicals have been giving sermons for centuries, inviting societies to Zionist Christianity and spreading their religion.

Evangelism is the most widespread denomination in the US, with its followers reaching 25% of the population.

According to a LifeWay survey conducted in the US in 2017, 80% of Evangelical Christians believe that for the second coming of Jesus, the biblical prophecy must be fulfilled, meaning the process of creating Israel must be completed. The rate of those who believe in the prophecy among Black Americans is 50%.

The prophecies of Isaiah, which have been left behind for 34 centuries,  and 23 centuries ago  the written Revelation of John,  Is it possible not to care much about it?

Unfortunately, no...

In the 6th Book of the Torah and in the Bible,  which is mentioned and  is a divine command, US-based organizations have been working for years to reach the Promised Lands. The US not only uses religion as a tool for domestic policy but also does not shy away from using it as a tool for its imperialist projects.

THE JOSHUA PROJECT

Known as JOSHUA in English,  referred to as ISAIAH in Netanyahu's words, and as the YUSHA Project according to Islam, it is currently active in Turkey.

The "Joshua Project" was launched in Colorado Springs, USA, in 1995.  In 2006, it officially became part of the U.S. Center for World Mission, a missionary center. It is operated by Evangelicals.

 Its apparent purpose is to conduct observation and data collection for missionary activities.

So, what data is it collecting?

On the "Joshua Project Turkey" page, data updated as of 2024 is detailed as follows;

• All human groups living in Turkey have been divided into 85 groups based on their ethnic identities and nationalities. Their numbers have been determined, and their areas of high concentration on the map of Turkey have been  identified.

• The religion and language of each group have been calculated with percentage values.

• The proportion of Evangelicals within these groups, as well as those of Christian origin, and the annual growth rates of Evangelicals have been determined.

• Institutional structures, churches, and studies on sacred texts have been established for missionary activities, and it has been determined which types of religious texts should be provided to which community.

• Additionally, application pages for education and job opportunities have been opened.

• Turkey has been scanned with a detailed and meticulous study.

• According to the collected data, the annual growth rate of Evangelicals in Turkey is 1.2%.  • The annual growth rate is 1.2%.

• The living spaces, lifestyles, beliefs, needs, and related prayer methods of each group have been identified.

For example, the prayer to be said for Zaza Alevis is as follows;

“Pray to God to soften their hearts and open them to the Gospel.

Ask God to give strength to this minority group in Turkey and to protect them.

Ask God for  an army of intercessors  who will faithfully fill   the void of the Zaza Alevis.

Ask God to accept living in Turkey and for the Zaza  Alevis  pray for trainers to work among them.”

• Zazas, divided into two groups: Alevi Zazas (210,000) and Dimli speakers (1,323,000)  and Kurds, also divided into two groups: Kurmanji speakers (9,299,000) and Turkish-speaking Kurds (6,445,000).

• The study also identified sub-language groups. Furthermore, for example, Arabs were categorized by nationality (Iraq, Northern Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, North Yemen, Algeria, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia) and numerical data was compiled (1,214,792). The largest group is those of Northern Iraqi origin, with 593,000.

Those of Turkish origin are stated to be 61 million 800 thousand.

• Numerical data on ethnic groups in Turkey living in other regions of the world has been included.

• Religious texts have been prepared in their own languages and alphabets for exactly 85 human communities.

Is this a missionary activity? Or is it an occupation project disguised as missionary work? After all, the Anatolian peninsula, where this scanning was conducted, is the “promised land”!

It is clear that thinking missionary activities remained in the Ottoman Empire era is highly misleading.

The church, founded in Beyoğlu in 1886 under the name "The Evangelical Union Church of Pera," received financial aid from the American Board (Missionary Organization) until 1956. In 1966, its name was changed to "The Union Church of Istanbul." It still continues its activities within the grounds of the Dutch Consulate General. The church, which aims to spread Evangelicalism, opened the "International Christian Fellowship Center" in Mecidiyeköy in 2020.

Today, missionary work continues to exist as a new tool of imperialism.

I will explain the missionary activities during the Ottoman period in another article, based on their own original sources and reports.  I will tell it.

However, I cannot pass without drawing attention to a strange ignorance.

THE HILL OF JOSHUA (HZ. YUŞA TEPESİ)

For years, it has been believed that the tomb of the prophet named Isaiah/Joshua, whom Jews and Christians have declared sacred by forming a united front and whose prophecy in the 6th book of the Torah is used as a justification for genocide, is located in Beykoz, Istanbul. Our people, mistaking him for a sacred figure of Islam, seek remedies for their troubles there.

Let us continue; does the tomb located at the place called Joshua's Hill (Yuşa Hazretleri Tepesi) in Beykoz/Anadolu Hisarı actually belong to him?

Even though his name is not mentioned in the Quran, in the commentaries,  should those who interpret the person who met with Khidr as Joshua not be questioned at all?

Foreign sources state that the tomb is located in Kifl Haris in the West Bank and publish photographs of it.

So, when was the 17-meter-long empty tomb we have here built?

The story is as follows;

Yahya Efendi (1494-1570), the foster brother of Suleiman the Magnificent,  sees Joshua in his dream. Joshua points to the hill and says, "find me here." Thus, a 17-meter-long tomb and shrine were built on the hill.

Reason is our most valuable treasure.

 Is it infinite tolerance, or is it the disregard of reason, science, and history to build a tomb 29 centuries later for a person who lived in the 13th century B.C. in a completely different geography, and to sanctify a Jewish prophet who received the command to occupy Anatolian lands?

Let us remember Atatürk once again with respect: "The truest guide in life is science!"
