The mystery of the 'Process with Öcalan,' which began with Bahçeli's call, is being clarified.
It was already clear as day that Öcalan's call for the PKK to unilaterally disarm could not be realized. Now, demands are pouring in one after another from the DEM Party and the PKK's leadership cadre.
Let us see what kind of conditions they are putting forward.
First and foremost, they are demanding that Öcalan's isolation be lifted and that he be set free, and that an environment suitable for negotiations regarding the process be created.
They are requesting that the PKK Congress be convened and that Öcalan address the Congress to inform and persuade the organization regarding the process.
For Turkey's democratization, it is expected that the government take steps regarding structural changes and, primarily, that certain decisions be adopted and put into effect.
The immediate actions required are listed as follows: PKK members in prisons the release of sick prisoners, the lifting of unjust detentions, and the reversal of the appointment of trustees to local governments.
The demands made during the process are listed as follows: EU The removal of reservations regarding the European Charter of Local Self-Government.
The repeal of the Anti-Terror Law.
Ensuring that Kurds become truly equal citizens and the recognition of Kurdish identity.
The lifting of bans regarding education in the mother tongue, public services in the mother tongue, and speaking in the mother tongue in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
There is more, as explained by Sırrı Süreyya Önder: “Öcalan’s Democratic Confederalism Model” everything can be resolved with it.
The statement by DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Koçyiğit is quite striking. She responds as follows to the interpretation that Kurds have the same legal and constitutional rights as Turks:
“We can be anything, but we cannot be Kurdish!”
The new Constitution is being referenced as the final point of the solution.
In reality, nothing has changed on the DEM/PKK/Öcalan front. They have rolled up their sleeves to seize this opportunity they have found. They remain exactly where they stood during the 'Dissolution Process' initiated in 2012.
So, what do the inconsistent statements coming from the government side indicate?
In the statement made by Presidential Advisor Ayhan Ogan, “due to the fact that there was no Kurdish element to cooperate with Western imperialists during the liquidation of the Ottoman Empire and the partitioning of its lands, the Kurds could not be given a share” complaint and subsequently
the threat that "those who do not heed Bahçeli's call will pay the price" what was that all about?
Following that, how should we interpret the words of Chief Presidential Advisor Mehmet Uçum, who opposed equal citizenship by stating; "Equal citizenship based on two separate nations is a complete deception. It is acting as a prop for an imperialist partition project" how should we interpret these words?
With one being a Chief Advisor and the other an Advisor, are they playing the good cop, bad cop routine? Why is the President silent...
As for Bahçeli, how did he shed the anti-PKK/DEM/Öcalan stance he has maintained for years and become their guardian angel in a single day? What would have happened if it hadn't been Bahçeli making this call for peace? Without a doubt, the Nationalists would have taken to the streets, and all hell would have broken loose.
So, what is the story behind this mysterious process? The Turkish public is curious about this.
The cards are now on the table. It has been revealed that the call for peace will not be 'unilateral.' However, there is no sound or reaction from the ruling partners who are the architects of the process...
The climate of fear created in society to silence those who oppose this process is being maintained through arrests. The first to be silenced was Victory Party leader Ümit Özdağ. They claimed he would 'sabotage' the process and he was taken captive in the Silivri prison.
What is interesting is that the reaction from political parties to this dark scenario is also very limited. DEM Party members are giving plenty of messages on television, explaining the sub-headings of the partition project by coating them in a 'sauce of democracy.' They receive almost no reaction. Tolerance, courtesy, and understanding are at their peak.
We have seen this movie before. It has been released again, but this time, the roles of the 'wise men' and the collaborative neo-liberals are being played with the utmost courtesy by a different, confused team.
One cannot help but wait for the reaction of Atatürk's party. However, the CHP, "Politics in Limbo" by engaging in this, is watching the process from the outside.
The cost of stripping politics of its principles and ideology and turning it into "political marketing" will be very heavy.
One of the supporting pillars of the Founding Doctrine of the Republic of Turkey is the Nation-State and the unitary structure. Those who forget this and
History will never forgive those who seek their path in murky weather by taking advantage of silence.
It is the President's duty to eliminate the suspicion regarding what bargain lies behind the terrorist organization PKK and its leader Öcalan being addressed and legitimized through the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and what is intended to be torn away from Turkey in line with the USA's Greater Middle East Project. It is the President's duty to eliminate these suspicions.
