A blessing from God

Writing a second article on unions has become a necessity.

Scruffy-looking, ignorant, opportunist unionists who violate the sanctity of the union, which is a sacred institution.

During the Cold War, they were deployed to the field very effectively.

The jargon used was stirring up the masses.

Under the guise of defending the rights of the working class, they were steering society in the direction they wanted.

Renowned Kemalists, intellectuals, and other sensible, literate groups were also supporting the unions with interest.

After all, the unions were defending the rights and laws of the laborer.

For years, it was not an unusual situation for a generation of a prophet who said, "Pay the worker's wage before his sweat dries."

There were certainly those who knew they were practicing 'taqiyya' (dissimulation), but when it came to the worker's rights, their hands were tied.

Just like the people from Pennsylvania, they were gathering power for their main goal with the story that they were representing the Turkish language and the Turkish flag in the farthest corners of the world.

We saw the result with our own eyes.

We also saw DİSK by experiencing it.

This must be a blessing from God.

While working at a state university, I stayed away from these types.

It didn't matter which faction they belonged to.

Neither their appearance nor the terminology they used felt very sincere.

It was obvious from everything about them that they were ignorant.

A few jargonistic terms they had been taught to use also sounded very awkward. They were trying to sell morality, but they had also made us members of a cooperative-like chest they had set up, so that we would supposedly buy goods and services cheaply by using the power of the worker.

We got nothing, and that wasn't even enough.

The guys had scammed the market so badly that members of average intelligence like us had to pay the debts.

Now they have set their sights on İzmir.

They have descended upon the beautiful city.

They are strangling it with one hand.

And trying to gouge its eyes out with the other.

They want to come from the mountains and violate those who belong to the land.

The descendants of the rebels want to wipe the descendants of the front line of the War of Independence off the map.

They are trying to force the Efe's, whom imperial powers could not make bow down, to submit by dressing up as unionist clowns.

They think they can act tough on the streets where the gunmen of the Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa once hunted for the heads of infidels.

They have kicked out those born and raised in İzmir from the municipality and filled the vacant positions with their entire extended families.

Now they want salaries at the level of an associate professor, and salaries in academia are quite low, just like teachers' salaries.

It is high time to declare a lockout and kick them out immediately.

It is high time to hire the bright, decent children of İzmir in their place.

While the nation sweats for 22 thousand liras, if they can even find that, this arrogance will certainly be held to account.

But the issue is not the salary.

It is terrorizing the streets of İzmir like occupying soldiers and standing up to the Mayor of İzmir.
