The Turkish people have recently hit rock bottom in terms of poverty.
The retired population, in particular, is practically headed for the guillotine.
I see the extent of our poverty more clearly while traveling in Germany.
Even though I have a high income, I cannot even afford to eat at a restaurant in Turkey.
A soup and a mid-range meat dish cost one thousand lira, whereas I can eat a better quality version of the same meal for less in Germany.
Of course, I am not going to compare Germany's economy to Turkey's, but when looking at the educated population structure, one must give Turkey its due.
Even without money, in terms of their outlook on life and quality of behavior, Turks are no less than Germans. Especially those who grew up during the Cold War era in the semi-communist Turkey period are extremely cultured and conscientious people.
We have heard that Qatar and the surrounding emirates have embarked on major investments.
They are building residences, aiming to become a center of attraction for the world.
They want to attract a more high-quality, well-equipped, and cultured population to their country so that social, cultural, and commercial life in Qatar can flourish.
In short, they want to keep the mill turning with borrowed water, but they are successful in this regard.
They are even granting residence permits for families.
They want to turn their warm climate to their advantage during the cold winter months and host wealthy and cultured Europeans.
But I heard they have hit a bit of a snag.
The country has become a hub for OnlyFans creators.
Illegitimate activities have flooded Qatar.
Girls who make money with just a tripod and a camera have settled into the residences.
It seems Qatar has poked its eye out while trying to fix its eyebrow.
They are still at the beginning of the road.
If they were to offer our Turkish retirees long-term, interest-free loans and even a small residency stipend, our cultured, conscientious, and well-equipped retirees would settle in Qatar too.
They wouldn't have to freeze in the winter, and they could dodge their natural gas bills with the warmth of the Arabian deserts.
