Associate professorship files are being prepared for one million

Fraud has descended upon our country like a nightmare.

From driver's licenses to the priesthood, academia has also had its share of this.

Especially after the associate professorship appointment regulation was changed and evaluations were reduced solely to file reviews, Turkish universities exploded.

In the past, there was a system where publications were examined first, and then, if the candidate was successful in terms of publications, they were taken for a second oral examination.

The associate professor candidate would be put through their paces in front of a five-person jury and a blackboard for a two-to-three-hour exam, and the exam would end successfully once the candidate's competence was confirmed; otherwise, the candidate would be re-examined a year later.

Some candidates would only succeed in this exam on their third or even fourth attempt.

It was perhaps one of the most serious exams in the world.

Unfortunately, this system has passed away.

Thus, the place has become filled with ignorant associate professors.

Files prepared for one million liras are coming before the jury.

The publications within the files are also produced by the associate professorship network.

Does YÖK not know this?

Of course, it knows.

But what is it doing about it?

I am sure it will go for a serious regulation.

Rumors are reaching our ears that it will revise the old examination system and put it back into practice.

Let us hope for the best.
