Delays in the air, radar on the ramp

The 10-day boycott holiday is over.

May God bless those who extended the duration of this holiday.

Even if we couldn't go to a hotel or anything, we traveled quite a bit.

Since air travel has become a torment due to both the bullying done in the name of security, the 300-lira tea-and-simit robbery, and the delays, we can't go far either.

Therefore, we traveled by land.

We cut down on expenses by preparing food and drinks at home and carrying them in our bags.

And when we stayed in guesthouses, we were as happy as could be.

I can't say we had many expenses.

We spent the most money on highways and bridges. While we pay 30 lira for the roads left behind by Demirel and Özal, we paid more than 300 lira at once for the new ones.

When the entry to Istanbul was heavy, we decided to take the Northern Marmara Highway.

Even though we traveled a short distance, we passed through two toll booths and paid 310 lira.

We still haven't gotten used to these prices.

Next time, we'll leave early and take the free road before the traffic gets heavy.

There is no other choice.

Though, it seems only commoners like me are complaining, as the expensive roads were also packed to the brim.

In the meantime, I also paid attention to the radar so we wouldn't get caught.

Thanks to an app on my smartphone, I received warnings before approaching radars, so I didn't get any tickets.

I even managed to avoid getting a ticket from the radar trap set up on a downhill ramp—which, for some reason, is where they are being set up lately.

But the tickets I received for going 60-70 in city crossings are still arriving by registered mail and continue to sting.
