What did the Great Atatürk say:
Nations that have made it a habit to seek ways to live comfortably without working, without tiring, and without learning (producing) are doomed to lose first their dignity, then their freedom, and subsequently their future.
In recent years, easy and dirty money has become the goal of society.
Did it not exist in the past?
Of course it did.
However, with digitalization, accessing easy and dirty money has ceased to be a dream for anyone with a smartphone in their hand.
The path to easy and dirty money moved to the digital environment with the closure of casinos.
There is no longer a need to board a plane.
Things have turned into a "cook-it-yourself, eat-it-yourself" system.
Referees have also started to grab what they can from the billion-dollar football market, like looting goods from a fire or snatching logs from a flood.
They have started betting on the matches they officiate.
Some football players have also helped the referees by receiving easy cards.
Because the earnings were many times higher than the traditional kickbacks.
Transfer fees and signing bonuses were now just a drop in the bucket.
Footballers appeared at the doors of clubs with their transfer papers in hand, saying "I'll even play for free, brother," because they were going to make their money through betting methods.
And since no money was taken by hand from anyone, there was no direct participation in illicit gains.
Perhaps there was an indirect one.
Club presidents who were in debt and could not find money also fell into the trap of this easy but dirty money.
All this decay, of course, could not have happened without the federation's knowledge.
It is also not very possible for the hands of politicians who see the federation as a granary to remain free of illicit gains.
