Today, I have prepared an article that, while not strictly technical, contains bio-technical elements.
By the way, let us note right away that the title of this article is borrowed from our friend Yavuz Saltık's book.
I am not a member yet, but he is a friend who ignited the spark for an organization like the “Trabzon Think Tank”, which has few equals in the world.
We both completed a significant part of our education at Anadolu University.
So perhaps he will forgive me for borrowing the title of the book he wrote.
We are entering the final stretch for the municipal elections.
There are more mayoral candidates than I can count.
My only interest in the elections is to warn the mayoral candidates as much as I can about the subject called “URBAN TRANSFORMATION”, which is actually nothing more than “URBAN BANKRUPTCY”.
I have written a few articles on this subject, but it seems no one other than Prof. Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu has paid much attention.
Mikdat Hoca has also stated that it is absurd and impossible to demolish and rebuild one million housing units that are said to be dilapidated.
He pointed out that it would be logical in terms of “engineering and economics” to carry out repairs and make them safe enough not to die among the rubble.
It is obvious that they will not pay attention to an ordinary person like me, but perhaps they will pay attention to the famous Mikdat Hoca.
Anyway, let us get to our main topic.
The race for the mayoralty is heating up.
Irrational algorithms are being built on urban transformation, which has the most buyers.
I am not even getting into other promises; most of them are difficult to realize.
In a period where human mobility will decrease by 3-4 times in the next decade, vehicles will shrink, and life will evolve into another form, I do not support metro projects and traditional rent-seeking projects whose return costs will take 50 years.
But when mayoral candidates say this, because they would make them regret being born, they say “metro, metro” and “asphalt, asphalt”.
Therefore, do not look at what is said, the advertisements, or the promises.
Read the candidates' biographies,
Look at their topology and facial features,
Note who dances the best,
The one who dances the best is the smartest one,
Thus,
You will easily understand who will serve you and who will serve others.
You will understand who will channel resources to your city and who will channel them to their cronies.
Let me end the article with a short example.
When you arrive at the fish market, if you are curious and ask when you see the abnormal difference between the prices of similar sea bream,
You will see that the cheap one is “pool-raised” or “farm-produced”.
Since its taste is not as desired, its price is quite cheap compared to the natural one.
The sea bream that grows by “fighting” in the sea, that is, in its natural environment, both runs away from larger predatory fish to continue its life and chases prey to feed, and fights for its prey.
It also takes quite a beating.
This struggle for life also carries the risk of death.
The spine, teeth, and jaw of a sea bream raised in this environment become stronger,
Its fins and tail become more agile.
Its skeletal structure becomes dynamic.
It also leaves one in awe with the path and speed it takes in the water.
It becomes agile.
This effort also affects the protein structure of the sea bream, making it more delicious and nutritious.
None of these features are found in “Farm Sea Bream”.
It is in a state worse than a “dependent son-in-law”.
For those who grow up in environments where the bed and food are ready, exam questions are served after midnight, marriage is arranged from a catalog, and civil service and high-level bureaucracy are guaranteed, it is impossible for the above skills to develop.
The “Homo sapiens” ability to succeed on their own, the ability for “Shelter, Nutrition, Reproduction, and Protection,” and the quality of being a “Wise Person” are provided by others, not without effort but not without a price.
Those who do not say “We worked, we produced, we earned, we are full today, God is merciful for tomorrow,” but wait at the head of the inexhaustible “Soup Pot”;
In other words, it is obvious that those raised with a “silver spoon in their mouth” will not provide much benefit to the future of society.
The Mayor: “Natural or Farm-raised?”
Cast your vote accordingly.
