The Iran issue has dragged on for quite a while.

We are exhausted by the wars in our region.

For 15 years, like falling dominoes, the devastating fratricidal conflicts around us must finally come to an end.

But it seems this wish of mine will not come true.

A senseless and groundless vein within the Muslim population is in cooperation with a diseased mentality that does not resemble itself.

Muslims are bombing one another.

Despite American officials viewing Islam as their primary enemy and openly declaring this, Muslim brothers are still busy strangling each other.

Why did I write these things?

Even though it is not my field, why did I express my opinion on this subject?

Let me explain briefly.

Years ago, I attended an important meeting at the Iranian Embassy in Ankara as a speaker.

The meeting was about the processes of Iranian students receiving education in Turkey.

When the speaker before me, the rector of Ankara University, gave a formal speech, I decided to avoid repetition and, based on my experiences, explained what I was thinking in detail, right to the faces of the ambassador and the religious official.

I stated that despite thousands of Iranian students receiving education in Turkey, the Iranian state has no value-added project regarding this matter.

I pointed out that there is no organic educational project between the two countries.

I mentioned Iran's zero support for research funds.

I asked why there is no Erasmus-like exchange program between the two countries.

It was a somewhat harsh speech on similar topics.

I also stated loudly that although I have attended meetings in Europe and America dozens of times, I have not gone to Iran even once.

I asked why no support is allocated from billions of dollars in oil revenue to educational projects, specifically for Iranian students.

Following the event, both the ambassador and the representative of the religious leader invited me to the embassy and requested a detailed text of my speech.

In the more than ten years that have passed since, we have not seen the slightest step from the Iranian government.

Although there are tens of thousands of Iranians working as academics and receiving education as students in Turkey, Iran has consistently pursued policies with a hidden agenda.

The result is clear.

I hope that from now on they will come to their senses and, instead of their hidden agendas, develop their country with more tangible and logical projects.
