The intelligent 'Turkish gene' is disappearing

The youth population problem seen in developed countries has also knocked on Turkey's door.

And that, while it is still developing.

These are frightening figures in terms of traditional public policy.

For those who say 'after me, the deluge,' there is no issue.

About 70-80 years ago, the world population was around 1 billion.

Now, it is said to be 7 billion.

The number of humans has increased sevenfold in less than a century.

China, India, and Africa are the countries with the largest shares in this increase.

In Turkey, it was around 45-50 million in the 1980s.

Now it has reached 85 million.

I do not know if this includes the immigrants who have been flowing in like a flood over the last 15 years.

As I write these lines, I am watching the woman sitting across from me on the Marmaray.

She looks like she is in her 20s.

She does not look literate.

It is understood from her clothing that she is an immigrant.

She looks at the world through a small window in her headscarf.

Along with her pitch-black abaya.

They see this abaya, which prevents recognition, as freedom in the land they migrated to.

They say that wherever she goes, whatever she does, since no one can recognize her, it expands her sphere of freedom.

They do not consider modern women with their hair and heads uncovered to be free.

Anyway, she has 4 beautiful little girls with her.

One is in a stroller, and the others seem to be a year older than each other.

This picture is now almost non-existent among Turks.

Not just 4 children, even 1 child is seen as a problem.

Especially education costs intimidate young people.

People are struggling to feed themselves.

Furthermore, since the prices of baby formula and diapers are competing with gold, young people have completely dried up.

When the situation of retired parents also makes it impossible to help their children, the figures become even more frightening.

This situation has long since reached a worrying point for the educated segment.

It has approached zero.

Academics, nearly half of whom are women, either have no children at all or have one just to go through the motions.

Likewise, intelligent women such as doctors, lawyers, judges, and teachers are in the same situation.

However, there is some movement in families with low education levels.

But that does not produce enough intelligence to enter the G8.

As such, it becomes impossible for the society's genetic intelligence to be passed on to future generations.

Therefore, the planned birth incentive program is also in a style that will hinder the transfer of intelligence.

People with low reproductive hormones—and intelligent people are generally in this group—need to be incentivized.

Let me end my article with an example.

If women in professions such as academics, doctors, and judges have 2-3 children, let them retire with the rights of a Rector.

If they have 4-5, let them retire with the rights of an Undersecretary.

Let career anxieties be reduced so that we have a chance for a welfare society.
