According to a report published in July of this year, the number of robots in Amazon warehouses may soon equal the number of humans.
The company is making significant investments in automation and robotics technologies, and more than one million robots are reportedly already involved in packaging and delivery processes in its warehouses.
Instead of hiring more than 600 thousand employees, Amazon is expected to hire robots for these positions by 2033 and sell nearly twice as many products as its current sales by that date.
According to short-term plans, Amazon's robotics team plans to automate approximately 75% of all its operations by 2027.
According to a report by the NY Times, robotization will save the company approximately 30 cents for every product delivered. It is said that if Amazon uses robots instead of humans, it will save more than 12.5 billion dollars by 2027.
It seems that robots, which have no insurance and only require lubrication, maintenance, and repair costs, will push humans out of the system.
Those of us who are insured, who ask for maternity leave, whose relatives pass away, or who want to go to the beach will not be very desirable.
