Why contractors do not believe in God

I spent years among contractors. Having graduated from the civil engineering department, what else could I have been?

We had accepted from the start that we were entering a dead end.

God Almighty helped, and my dealings with the riffraff contractors did not last very long.

Once I landed in academia, I became more occupied with students and scientific studies.

In the meantime, within the scope of scientific research, I had the chance to spend more time with literate engineer-contractors.

If I had found the chance to work with engineer-contractors before starting in academia, perhaps I would never have moved to the university.

Extremely capable engineer-contractors who recognize rights and laws win the love of the nation with the projects they build, yet they live their lives as no-names.

Perhaps because they also believe in divine justice, their firms are long-lasting and their employees are happy.

The others, that is, the riffraff, flare up like a flash in the pan and burn out in a short time.

Excessive political engagements and constant underhanded schemes damage both their corporate structures and their family structures.

Their children are poisoned as well. Their circle of friends becomes flawed accordingly.

Their reputations are not permanent; they remain limited to the time they are wealthy.

That was the end for the fast and self-taught, daring contractors of the 80s and 90s.

The engineer-contractors of the same period, however, did not deviate from the path of morality and faith, did not compromise on the framework of rights and law, and protected the rights of their employees to the end; they grew their firms and carried them to the second generation.

The riffraff contractors who have lived through a 'Tulip Era' in the last 20 years, who are enemies of trees, birds, and forests, who plunder both what is above and below the ground, but who simultaneously do not refrain from earning the hatred of the nation, will also meet the same end as the old ones.

Even if they cannot see it right now.

Engineer-contractors, on the other hand, will continue on their way safely, albeit slowly, like a massive cruise ship.

As a faithless, self-taught contractor who was ruined after living through his own 'Tulip Era' whispered in my ear: "While we were contracting, we thought we were defrauding the state and that the nation were fools; it turns out the ones who were fools were not the nation, but us, and we were defrauding ourselves."
