Why the CHP will come to power - 2

Recently, I wrote an article titled “Why the CHP Will Come to Power.”

I wrote that in Istanbul, I was able to meet with three out of the four mayors I visited without an appointment, while the one that was completely inaccessible was an AK Party municipality.

They called from the AK Party media monitoring center.

I thought, 'Good for them, are they actually following my articles?'

But then I realized that my article had been flagged by a few keywords.

Otherwise, they aren't actually reading anything.

They immediately asked for a name.

Asking which mayor it was.

From the tone of their voices, I understood that they were going to send a warning to the mayor.

I didn't give the name, of course.

I told them to handle their own business.

However, I would also like to note that I do not see the same determination, ambition, humility, and effort in the CHP headquarters that I see in CHP-run municipalities.

afterwards,

press this,

press that,

the subscriber you are trying to reach is currently unavailable,

please try calling again later,

connect to the operator,

you are number one thousand five hundred and fifty-third in the waiting queue,

who calls in this heat, brother?

and just like that

the phone cuts off abruptly.

In other words, those at the center are singing a different tune.

They have already divided up the seats. They have started dreaming of sharing the most lucrative positions and salaries.

They have even arranged shadow ministers, shadow general managers, and shadow bureaucrats.

They view the success of the March 31 local elections as a success of the center.

They still avoid grasping the new dynamics of politics.

They still think that the appointment of a talented sister-in-law, a merit-based spouse, an old friend, or a brother-in-law who 'can handle things' through cronyism will be overlooked.

They still think the citizen is voting for the traditional, status-quo People's Party.

They still overlook the fact that the citizen is supporting the CHP by extending credit through the municipalities.

They still think the citizen will support a center that does not believe the Germans lost the Second World War.

They still think that a center that does not accept that the Cold War is over for the citizen is a source of hope.

As far as I can understand, the biggest obstacle in front of the mayors who are working heart and soul is a constipated Ankara.

Can they overcome it?

Judging by the atmosphere, the battle looks like it will be tough.

However, it seems the center will not be the winner this time.
