Alone in the Middle East

They used to shut down anyone who spoke of the danger of partition right from the start. With the worship-level flattery of a network of interests fed by family, clan, cronies, and power, he loses his common sense entirely and turns into a tyrant.

The despot's rule, which turns into a dynasty, continues without problems as long as every command of the imperial masters is obeyed, every request is fulfilled, and every prescription is applied. The despot is comfortable in his seat and certain that his dynasty will last forever. A leader who does not take into account the competition between imperial powers, the fights over spoils, the friction between blocs, and who cannot calculate the strategic balance, often fails to realize that his shelf life has expired. By the time he realizes it, it is often too late.

Let's move on to concrete examples of the above explanations. The liquidation of Saddam took place with external intervention.
