Changing Turkey's equation

Even though it sometimes seems to have fallen off the agenda, they have actually never given up, never let it go. We are talking about the deception they dress up as a 'Civil Constitution,' which would grant legal legitimacy to despotism. Are those who have grown up in a climate of unconditional obedience to the 'master,' where there is not a shred of questioning, scrutiny, or criticism, burning with desire for a Civil Constitution? 

The group that practices taqiya—hiding their true purpose and the ultimate goal they wish to reach, lulling their opponents into complacency rather than anxiety—is working full-time on the Civil Constitution issue this time. The truth behind this taqiya is to create the legal pillar and beam for unlimited power concentrated in a single person, instead of the balancing and auditing separation of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.

Are we aware that the mindset that has relegated Turkey from the league of democracies is settling scores with the two-century-old history of Turkish Modernization? Have we completely lost the common sense to understand that they will not pause until they have cleared away the final remnants of the Republic with the illusion of a Civil Constitution? Have we suffered such a paralysis of consciousness that we cannot see we are being dragged from being free citizens of the National Will into becoming obedient subjects of a monarchical will? 

Despite all the changes they have made to the 1982 Constitution, why are they never satisfied? Why do their complaints not end even though the country has transitioned to a Partisan Presidency, a fusion of powers, and a single-leader regime? Why do they persist in their demand for a 'New/Civil Constitution' even though changes have been made to nearly three-quarters of the constitution? 

No matter how much the questions are extended and diversified, the answers to be given are simple and short: To overcome October 29, 1923, and to completely eliminate the state equation that centers on the Republic, Atatürk, and the Turkish Nation! To remove Turkey from being the country of the Turks by creating a new state equation that is religiously referenced, multi-ethnic, and without Turks!

They know that the legitimacy visa they received from the 'Not enough, but yes' crowd in the 2010s will not be enough in 2024. That is why they are knocking on the door of the CHP, the party that founded the Republic. This time, they want to make Atatürk's party play the role of the 'Not enough, but yes' supporters. They want to corner the CHP through anti-coup rhetoric and force it to deny its Müdafaa-i Hukuk (Defense of Rights) roots. They are trying to intimidate it with accusations of a single-party dictatorship and force it to drift from the Müdafaa-i Hukuk path toward the line of the Hürriyet ve İtilaf (Freedom and Accord) party.

Müdafaa-i Hukuk was the civil political organization of the National Struggle that took root in every corner of the country.  The People's Party/Republican People's Party/Republican People's Party (CHP) is the political organization of the founding period and the Republic, with its roots in Müdafaa-i Hukuk.

Müdafaa-i Hukuk, which carries the honor of liberation and foundation, is a legacy that lives in the hearts and consciousness of the people—a past to be proud of, not ashamed of. Hürriyet ve İtilaf, on the other hand, is the representative of a political tradition that collaborated with the occupiers during the War of Independence. 

The call for the spiritual heirs of the liberation and foundation to lend a shoulder to the 'Civil Constitution' (!) scheme—by a mindset whose mental and spiritual worlds remain stuck before October 29, 1923, and which relies on anachronistic, theocratic, and monarchical references like the sultanate and the caliphate—carries no meaning other than a historical irony.
