Sunday, May 24, has taken its place in CHP and Turkish political history as a 'dark day' that will not be forgotten...
I do not intend to dwell on this for too long... A political figure who lost 13 elections and served as CHP Chairman for 13 years returning to the Chairman's seat through a judicial coup under the control of the AKP government is the point where words fail...
Yes, the Özgür Özel administration made mistakes, showed inexperience... Some names took part in the party's management cadres despite not deserving it... Because changes that should have happened on time, due to leaders clinging to their seats, unfortunately cause 'political earthquakes'...
Leaders elsewhere lose one election and leave their seat; ours burn all the bridges in a fight for the seat even after losing 13 elections... This is followed by wholesale rejections, sulking, exclusions, resentments, and a twilight process where the new administration tries to find its way by trial and error...
While leaders managing the party should have trained the cadres to lead the party after them with a sense of responsibility, they instead busied themselves with purging potential leadership candidates...
They never let go of that seat, fueled by the encouragement of the sycophants around them...
We experienced this with Ecevit, Demirel, Erbakan, Baykal, and most recently, as we saw in the most painful way, with Kılıçdaroğlu... I hope that this earthquake in the CHP will be brought to an end with minimal damage, without further diminishing themselves in the eyes of the nation by making ridiculous statements like 'The party is not anyone's father's property' and without driving the party to rock bottom.
The country is going through its most difficult days economically... The nation's villages, vineyards, gardens, and forests are being auctioned off with a logic of plunder and pillage... Our region and the world are going through a destructive and ruthless period... While the war involving Iran remains in full intensity, just yesterday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited our neighbor Armenia... During this visit, Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Mirzoyan signed an agreement on critical minerals and rare earth elements...
The US and, of course, the imperialist countries acting in concert with it, are instigating wars and signing agreements in line with a strategy... The global competition shaping up around energy transition and critical minerals in the world is bringing new relationships and alliances with it...
Imperialist countries aim to bring the underground wealth of target regions under their control, either by force or through new agreements and alliances... The war being waged against Iran is right at the center of this strategy... Iran is a country that makes the mouths of predatory cartels water, not only with its oil and natural gas resources but also with its wealth of critical minerals...
They want to control it and they do not want any problems...
Today, the desire to close the book on the PKK and the new peace process being conducted are both parts of this strategy... Turkey's East and Southeast are tender zones for them... For companies and cartels to operate, the conflicts must end. They want to take control of and manage whatever there is—gold, silver, copper, rare earth elements, and so on.
For this, they need governments that are open to cooperation, that do not cause problems, and benevolent monarchies where everything is settled with a single signature... They do not care about the erosion of democracy, election fraud, injustices, the right to life of the locals, their villages, or their forests... They want to do what they could never do in a normal democracy, in a system where the Constitution and laws are valid. That is why US Ambassador Tom Barrack,
can say that countries in the Middle East wearing the cloak of democracy have failed, and that the only things that truly work in the region are strong leadership regimes, benevolent monarchies, or constitutional monarchies...
While a struggle is being waged to control resources on one hand, a struggle is also being waged over how they are produced and distributed on the other... We are facing a system where workers are seen as slaves and peasants are considered non-existent...
In short, we are right in the middle of an imperial game. The Turkish nation is at this imperial game table... The Turkish nation has its villages, mountains, forests, pastures, and highlands... Those tenders are not being held for nothing... However, neither 'strong leadership regimes' nor 'benevolent monarchies' will be enough to implement what they have planned. That is why they are striving to destroy organized structures that could object or stand against them one by one. The operation carried out against the CHP must also be viewed from this perspective...
