I know it feels a bit strange to put these names, who have been at odds with each other, side by side to thank them, but good things are happening in this country too...

Former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek had explained with animations in every election period how he would build a unique park on Dikmen Çal Mountain (the hill in Dikmen where the transmitters are located), complete with a Mevlana Whirling Dervish Tower. It is still in our minds...

During the first term of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, it was also announced that a “Memorial Park and Museum” would be built in the Çal Mountain region, the highest point between the Dikmen, İlker, and Oran neighborhoods.

In October 2021, a project competition was even launched to build a monument worthy of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

The monument, which was planned to be one of the symbols of Ankara, was intended to rise in the Dikmen Çal Mountain region, the point where Atatürk arrived in Ankara, and to be an iconic monument like the Statue of Liberty in the USA. It was emphasized that a special park area would be created as a new recreation area and viewing point for the people of Ankara.

And so, these “Tower-Monument-Museum-Park” projects of the former and current mayors are finally coming true.

Yes, I cannot tell you how happy the residents of Dikmen, Oran, and all of Ankara are...

The fact that the Park-Forest is to be built in two sections, one being 19 thousand 500 square meters and the other 56 thousand 100 square meters, has caused a bit of confusion, but that is fine... It means we will see two separate Parks and Forests with two different concepts. How lucky we are...

There is intense activity in the region now. Every morning, I pass through those roads with joy, unable to contain my excitement... I take pride in being a resident of Ankara, the capital of Turkey. I am proud of our mayors who reject the mentality of erecting concrete everywhere.

In recent days, signs reading “PARK FOREST” have also been hung... So, no matter how much we thank you, it is not enough... Moreover, I think they have also found a very successful contractor for park and forest projects...

A friend of mine said, “My son, are you naive? These guys aren't building a forest or a park, they are going to erect concrete blocks there,” but of course, I didn't take him seriously; I even snapped at him, saying, “How ill-intentioned you are...”

A construction firm named MBM has been contracted for the Park Forest project. That is how things go these days, isn't it... The days when municipalities built their own parks are long gone... Now construction firms do it... Let it be, as long as they build it well, even if they pay a little extra...

They called it Dikmen Valley and turned it into a Concrete Valley; fortunately, Dikmen Çal Mountain is becoming a Park-Forest... Thousands of our citizens living in the area are also waiting for the project to be realized as soon as possible with great happiness due to the Park and Forest gardens to be built in their region...
