How strange it is that the name of the ruling party is the Justice and Development Party. Yet, there is neither justice in the country nor are any serious development initiatives to be seen. Was the party's name chosen this way intentionally to mislead society, or were these two specific words placed side-by-side to mask an imperialist mission? Since we do not know the beginning of the matter, we cannot know the party's main objective either. Amidst all the uncertainties, if a decay that is very difficult to reverse is occurring in the main rules and principles that cement a society together—such as the economy, law, education, women's rights, and social moral norms—it seems to be proven that the purpose of masking the party's function with its name is being pursued. 

The proverb "a fish rots from the head down" is such a wonderful expression! It is clear that this phrase was developed for social fabrics. As the attitudes and behaviors of those who govern society spread gradually to the entire society, we are actually unable to get to the root of the problem by blaming individuals. We can even say that this expression was coined more for political cadres. Following this understanding, we will focus on the roles of political cadres in social degeneration. 

Why are we surprised by diploma fraud? If a series of important tasks can be managed in cases of lacking a diploma, does a diploma go beyond being a mere ornament? No, this statement is not true, because a diploma may not be directly related to state administration. For example, Ms. Merkel was a person with a doctorate in chemistry; it can be seen that the diplomas of a number of other famous politicians are also not related to state administration. However, if a diploma indicates a degree of maturity, it influences the behavior and thought patterns of high-level state officials. Let's say that at a press conference, a journalist, even if intentionally, asks a politician a somewhat absurd question. At this point, the diploma and the political and personal maturity associated with it can set a wonderful example for both the journalist and the nation. Even if the politician is angry at the question, they respond within the framework of such courtesy that both the journalist is embarrassed by what they asked, and society learns a behavioral pattern. A disrespectful response from the politician to the relevant journalist actually shows the politician's weak character structure and insecurity, as well as how they perceive their political office. 

When a person occupies a political office, especially when they rise to higher levels in that office, they must be aware that they are making all their statements not on their own behalf, but as a representative of the entire society. Because, just like the question asked, but even more importantly, the response given is far beyond being about the political figure; it is about society and social behaviors. While responding to any question, the politician should not perceive the question as a personal one directed at them, nor should they view the response as one given on their own behalf as a private individual. The opposite is an indication that the political figure has not yet grasped the political office and position. Especially as one rises to high positions in political offices, the politician's perception and behavior should evolve from being personal to becoming social. The politician's rudeness or courtesy is not only their own behavior and disrespect, but is also perceived as general social behavior and disrespect, and creates a serious lesson for society in this context. 

Justice is the foundation of the state; this is true, but this situation is only valid in a political structure that respects justice. So, why and under what conditions does a political structure strain justice? Whenever a political entity starts to act outside the laws of the state and according to its own tradition, justice is strained, because in a just society, every action of politicians is kept under strict control and supervision. The reason for this is that politicians are equipped with great powers and have seized the authority to establish dominance over social resources. In other words, when a politician enters politics and is elected to parliament, they enter into a life under stricter control and supervision than the one they led as an ordinary citizen. Looking at the issue from this perspective, we see that a politician's relationship and connection with the law is greater than that of an ordinary citizen. In terms of constitutional law, citizens are free within the boundaries of the law, but the actions of politicians are limited. The reason for this is that politicians are using the citizens' money and decision-making authority on behalf of the citizens. In short, the politicians whom our people describe as "state elders" are, in Western literature and in reality, "servants of the people." If our people realized this situation and did not bow down to politicians whenever they saw them, they would be doing a great service to both themselves and the politicians. The issue of justice should be viewed this way; we have seen in very brief outlines what the state of the understanding of justice in the country is compared to the party's name; since those who should be the first to comply with justice are the politicians, and they are the first to violate it, this wing of the party becomes a bit ambiguous. 

As for the issue of development, the whole picture is unfolding before the public's eyes. It is obvious how the latest inflation figures are calculated on the eve of periods when salary raises are discussed. The authorities pass this pathology off to the public as the control of inflation. It is as if the poor low- and middle-income segments of the public, who buy a little vegetables and fruit and never get a share of meat, are responsible for inflation, and if their throats are squeezed, inflation will be prevented! Those who ruthlessly deem these policies appropriate for the public cannot see with their own eyes those who launder black money, black marketeers, and those who make a killing in health and construction. Almost every business sector in the country is shrinking, unemployment is rising, and the middle class, which is the insurance of democracy, is eroding a little more every day and regressing to the level of the poor class. In short, income distribution is unfortunately deteriorating in favor of a handful of opportunistic cronies and to the detriment of the large majority of society. 

Let's think about the realities we are experiencing and the party name and symbols in this way, let's see what kind of picture emerges! As a society, we evaluate the party name and symbols from the perspective of society. Let's put this naivety aside and, for a moment, think about the party name and symbols not on behalf of society, but on behalf of the party members and their supporters; would we reach a more accurate conclusion?
