We must understand the political puppetry that crushes the law!

Those who cannot understand the present by looking at the past are the miserable architects of today. These architects consist of internal and external teams that are not related to each other, and even though they do not know each other, they unfortunately indirectly support one another. In this article, written upon my return from vacation, I will try to explain this highly complex process as best as I can.

As a method of thinking and writing, I find it useful to state that we need to grasp what concrete events are symbols of at an abstract level. Let us begin immediately; the concrete fact as an external factor is the 2000 IMF-Derviş program. The program, reflected to society as the "Transition to a Strong Economy Program," was opening Turkey to the economic service of a squeezed global capitalism with all its measures. The program was reflected and perceived as putting the deteriorated economy back on track with its concrete appearance. However, this was not the case, because we failed to see that the economy, which had transitioned from long-term planning—which it had entered as a developing economy—to a three-year Medium-Term Program (MTP) system, was being pulled from the field of real investment into the field of financial operations. The essence of this policy was the response to the search for markets providing safe, high-interest returns for funds that could not turn to new real investments due to declined stock market values at the capitalist center. Indeed, with the IMF in the background, high interest rates in the economy and controlled price levels in accordance with the program began to offer wonderful service to the world's rogue funds. The issue would not end there; idle real investment resources in capitalist centers would also embark on significant infrastructure investments under state guarantees with the build-operate-transfer deception. To conclude this topic without going into too much detail, we were dragged into these situations without thinking that the period of paying the bill we are experiencing today would come. In this situation, while transferring resources to foreign looters with heavy budget and current account deficits, we would naturally have to pay a portion of the debt by opening up our precious metals and underground resources amidst the debt repayment crunch.

Can it be said that there are no collaborators inside for these external factors? Could there not be certain capital circles or cronies, primarily the political power, involved in the adoption and smooth execution of these decisions? Is the result not clear? On one hand, there is a large budget deficit and high current account deficit due to high interest payments; on the other hand, while we are the sixteenth largest economy in the world, there are multi-layered political circles that have enriched themselves by surpassing even the politicians of the world's leading economies, alongside cronies who take a share from a fountain of wealth that their children and grandchildren could not consume even with a lifetime of extravagance. In this case, is it a negligible success that our youth score zero in mathematics in exams and never lose the last place in international competitions, which could be coincidental!

It is vital that the struggle we are going through is interpreted very well by all political parties and all segments of the public, and that an effective struggle is carried out accordingly. It must be known that we are not just facing the AKP. Even AKP supporters must realize that this struggle is far beyond an internal political conflict; it is, without any exaggeration, a national liberation struggle. Before moving on to explaining the reason, I would like to say very deeply that in the ugly and unlawful process reflected to society concretely as an AKP-CHP conflict, the CHP should not have been seen as the only front, and the process should have been opposed by treating it as a national struggle. We all know the result of the "it doesn't concern me..." idiocy. Did we not witness that in privatizations, leaving the union related only to the businesses subject to privatization alone in the struggle led to all of them being steamrolled! The TİP, which actively supported the CHP's struggle, did a wonderful job.

Now let us come to the abstract will that manages the daily concrete images from above. Although countries are seen as autonomous, the system as capitalism is a whole. The system works within this integrity. We observe that nation-states, which were once thought to serve national interests, and national governments have today entered the service of international capital. Such a massive drift is reflected (or projected) into the internal affairs of states, and it seems, even into their governing powers. Was the necessity of a single leader in Turkey not desired at one time (of course, to carry out imperialist goals smoothly)? Did an academic named Samuel Huntington not put forward the prediction of a clash of civilizations in the past—who knows with the teaching of which deep state or deep agent? Well, could the one-man despotism in Turkey, which we unfortunately brought to power with our own votes and which was supported by the folly of some who pass for intellectuals with the "not enough, but yes" attitude, be a project; if so, whose project, which circle's project could it be? Did the lady who was once the US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, not whisper in our ears that borders in the Middle East would change? Now, when we put all these together, does the picture not become clear?

In such a very fast and bird's-eye view, if we put the goals of the imperialist center in one corner of our minds and the shaping of Turkey in the opposite corner, does the picture not fit together a bit? In other words, from which center does the ugly expression "the one who took the horse has passed Üsküdar," which is said right into the eyes of our people with every permissive and deceived game, come? Today's struggle is far beyond a conflict of opposition between parties; it is, unfortunately, a struggle between those dedicated to the survival problem of those devoted to imperialism and those dedicated to the survival problem of the country and our people. While expressing our gratitude as a nation to the TİP, which understands this spirit of the struggle, it must be stated that we should also see all patriotic political and other organizations on the same side. I hope that the AKP will also raise its own consciousness and act in the direction of the country's survival problem as an organization and as cronies! Today's comfort means the loss of our tomorrow. I wish for our legal institutions, just like the opposition parties, to act more sensitively and to take care that their decisions are in accordance with the law in this context!
